    Well, I’m not a “fox man “ and I’ve never had “fox dogs” ! Ive had a few dogs that could kill foxes but couldn’t be considered “fox dog”. I had a 29 1/2” , 75lb deer/grey that could kill foxes, as has been said, kill foxes in a shake, and so it should, a bitch of that size against a 15lb fox, I’d cull it if it couldn’t, but would it do five or six a night, five or six nights a week ? Probably not! I had a beddy type, 23” and around 38/40 lb that would roar into foxes like a Tasmanian Devil but it was a battle, a war of attrition, she’d win but it was a struggle ! So, th

    I’ve just been arranging my trip over to see the lads. It’ll be December time, I’ll be flying over , not taking a dog, a bit coursing, a bit digging, a day out with the lurchers , hounds, terriers and a days fishing.     I only go to a couple of hunt shows. There will be one at Steelrigg on the Military Road, near Twice Brewed. Don’t know the date yet but I’ll probably be at that one. Cheers.

    I entered the bitch in her class but got nothing, and I entered the two of them in the pairs, again nothing. The woman with the two gray coloured deerhound types won both, I think , they are the half sisters to mine. I live about five minutes from the show and just go along to support the hunt and meet up with my pals. Cheers.

    I’ll be flying over, mate. Newcastle-Belfast, less than an hour and about £50 each way. Last time, I drove from Newcastle to Holyhead, ferry to Dublin, then drove to Ballycommon, Offaly. 800 mile round trip not including the ferry . Took two lurcher over with me . This time it’ll be to have a craic with the lads and see their dogs Cheers.

    I was with Clint on Saturday, and Bobby, who Aidy got the two big lurcher pups off. He had the sister to those pups with him ;. I talk to Aidy and Rab daily. I hope to come over this winter Sister to Aidy’s pups; Cheers.

    I’ve found the new blue slug pellets absolutely useless, and they degrade and leave a sort of hairy, mouldy residue. Im spraying my brassicas with garlic fluid, and I have beer traps, seems to be working up to now.
