  2. All i want to know is did Paddy get his new mouse pad from PC world?
  3. I agree with lumphammer, a big my in my opinion. Lab only thinks its small because of his obese gundogs
  4. Really, sounds far too severe to me....... I think alot depends on the breeding of the dog Simmo to be honest...obviously a predominately Grey or Whippet cross would be bottomed by such an overload of work?...my crew get about 8 mile behind the bike but obviously not if their out grafting 3/4 times per week..only as and when imo they need it ie:to get them upto something like the fitness level where they are capable of putting in a decent shift and when the moon is up and then perhaps the weather ain't suitable for the hunting i do..as for the speed of running the dogs i go no faster th
  5. Really, sounds far too severe to me.......
  6. Big difference between GETTING them fit and KEEPING them fit. To get them fit i do a couple of weeks roadwalking, about 3 miles, i do this for two weeks and then add the road walking and some free running exercise. To keep a dog fit i do less road walking and still keep the dogs free running...........
  7. Loved him in Death Wish and the Magnificent seven.............
  8. Best of luck with the career change, and no offence intended bu i used to teach verterinary nurses and vets in training, and offering advice over the internet if great but you intend to help folk out with injured dogs, im afraid this is a bad idea in my opinion, even after your qualification, whether its an FdSc in Vet nursing or the vocational training the RCVS will no offer you liability insurance or apprrove of your sideline, and im sure your employer wouldn't be too happy you are undercutting them . Im afraid you will have niether the experience, training, insurance (vital nowdays) or equi

  11. or better still dig a moat an fill it with crocodiles That wont stop them Craig , they will steal them and after a week they'll be knocking out crocodile skin handbag's , Simon was speaking to a K9 officer who patrols Pittsburgh Airport and had a Mali , i knew what it was , though 1st id seeen in the flesh , very racey type and belies what there capable off too look at , though only a fool who has watch clips off there ability would underestimate the breed ,the officer was surprised someone from the uk knew what breed it was Hes American mate, hes probably surprised the world does
  12. A serious protection dog is made through hard work and training, many folk buy a protection breed and expect Rin Tin Tin and get a wake up call when the dog is expected to perform and stands there confused, SOME will protect naturally, BUT 99% won't and need the inherited abilities nutured and developed. This takes a lot of time, dedication and skill, also if an untrained dog decides to "take hold" in this day and age your f****d, you need to have control.........
  13. No mate, not at all, but i think they require specialist handling and are more difficult to own/train/control than most breeds. A bit life the bull before the ban, they are a breed only experienced folk should own with knowledge of canine behaviour and training experience. I saw the first real deals imported into this country by J.Rumble in the 90's, he is a very good trainer yet even his own imported stud competition dog had hospitalised him twice. They are not a dog that can be kept in a kennel all day and given a trot round the block, without doubt they will go stir crazy and become a li

  15. The dog on the left passed last year, hardest dog i have ever seen, never mind owned after spending over a decade training man work dogs for people, bred him to a softer bitch and produced the dog on the right, not quite as hard or driven but more than enough dog when needed.......Black dog was Belgian lines and driven as anything, hard as nails and no reverse gear but great around strangers, livestock, other dogs but more importantly my kids........
