  1. Very interesting to see something different
  2. Absoulutely brilliant stuff Moll, really pleased for you both
  3. KNPV is a more realistic "sport" and really tests dogs. Again, the sharp nature of mails is a real test and their high drive can make training "fun".........
  4. I recently bought this book after sneaking a peak at the Midland Game fair. This book is extreamly well written and displays the authors knowledge and passion for Roe. Numerous chapters including surburban roe and information on roe in Europe and the far east. The book is large with good photos and although RRP's at £45 I got it from amazon for £30. Well worth reading if you want to learn more about roe...........
  5. How does he get about then mate? With his legs............
  6. Its not just terriers, I know people with gundogs who are planning litters("the grandfather was a shooting dog you know" ) when the dogs have never seen a shoot in their life. I wish people would think before supplying the next litter for the dogs home. My Patterdale bitch isn't tested so for the sake of the pups, potential owners and the working terrier itself I had her neutered.........
  7. I recently had a conversation with somebody about terriers which irritated me and wondered if anyone would disagree with my opinion. A women I know has a 3 year old Lakeland bitch( always described by her as a "working" Lakeland) purchased form a breeder who I beleived added show stock that has seen nothing apart from the odd bunny and rat encountered during exercise. She has mated this bitch to a KC registered Parson that has "been ratting". These pups are to be advertised as "working Terriers" when sold. The purpose of the breeding is to keep a pup back but I wondered how many people
  8. I agree, I've worked with a few and they aren't candidates for cuddly pooches.......My Shepherds both weigh below 70lbs and are very athletic and fit. A much lighter frame than the standard shepherd seen in this country. I think the mali's hyper excitable nature could be irritaing ina working lurcher........
  9. Not all have bad hips, like any working breed you have to sift through the dirt to find the gold
  10. Some good lurcher and terrier books A Mouchers Tale, anything by Chapman, Harcombe or Darcy, Paul Dooleys book is also very good. If he is into shooting the best shooting book by a country mile is With Gun, rifle and bow by James Douglas, truly excellent.
  11. I'll only stop when my wife puts her foot down Speaking of missing appendages, a guy at the clay shoot I sometimes go too has one arm but I have yet to beat his scores............
  12. Trouble is Tony its the other way around. We lived in an area where only a couple of weeks before we moved my truck was broken into (protected no claims) and now live in a very rural remote area
  13. I am 34 and had my Navara through Budget last year at £280, the renewal has come this morning for £562. F*ckin rip off, I shall be calling them this afternoon to find out why. I've gone from parking it on the road in a ok area to living in the sticks and parking it in a locked garage, guess i'll be shopping around...................
  14. Stunning pics Moll. Its always a good day when you are kept busy with big numbers
  15. I think Jose would be great but he will never take it. Either Harry Redknapp or Shearer for me. As an outside bet either Mark Hughes(although as a Blackburn fan i'd rather keep him) or Roy Keane could inspire and add a bit of fire to the team............
  16. Absoulute total f*uckin' idiot..............
  17. France, Poland, Germany.............
  18. Is the place of work a brewery
  19. Mine will be among those details. Lets see if the goverment are prosecuted under the data protection act?????????
  20. Brilliant Alun, I am very interested to see how the litter are progressing
  21. I know somebody who keeps them and openly states they are awfull pets but thet like the look of them................
  22. I've only had experience with Siberian huskys and everyone was a nightmare, intractable, difficult with stock and not a pleasure to own. As a a sled dog they are amazing but why add it to a lurcher mix, what could it offer that isn't already "out there"?
  23. I can't understand why anyone would intentionally introduce husky blood into a working strain of lurcher.......
  24. I think both Eddies books are excellent.......
