Thanks lonedigga . So lablad, i'd be interested to hear why you are claiming ownership of dogs on an American website, please explain I'm sure were all interested to hear the explanation. I seem to remember when you joined last year you explained you were still at school, perhaps its still time to sit back and listen? Judging by your reply I assume you haven't used or seen one used properly? In the RIGHT hands an electric collar can be a useful tool that could solve a behavioural problem that can't be solved with titbits and praise. I'm not suggesting its the correct method for your problem but don't dismiss them so easily saying how stupid they are, you have admited that your dog is running off and isn't safe with sheep and other dogs. If a farmer shoots your dog, would it have been worth using a collar for a training session and saving its life?

Lablad, your right, lets not turn another thread into a slanging match but I must clear up the fact that English Bull Terriers are NOT on the list of banned breeds(only on council estates), who knows if TM lives on a coucil estate? @Eamon

gnasher they are not recognised by the KC and there is no height/weight guidance for the standard. They were originally a livestock guardian breed but in recent years have been used as sentry/patrol dogs in Russia and the eastern block countries. I worry about what will happen when they become popular here, from what I have been told they are a tad "touchy" with strangers................
