Getting the right pup isn't always a quick task, if you don't know decent lads you have to put time and effort into looking for a pup, thats life. If you can't find what you want you wait, simple!! So you don't agree with his methods but paid for two of his pups, just a little hypocritical isn't it? You say your dogs are 100% what you want, well different folks have diiferent levels of expectation from there dogs. Its not about buying a pup and expecting it to train itself, if you wanted a working gundog/terrier/guard dog/sled dog etc etc you wouldn't trawl the free ads and its the same with a working lurcher. Nice looking goats and enclosure, Bosun is right about them turning grass to mud in winter, entire Billys can be aggressive and DO stink.........

Dan, i'm up for some of that Trouble is this topic is an emotive subject and will never be resolved, name calling and throwing mud is easy to do but rationalising an argument is harder, both sides have embedded views and although may understand both sides of the argument won't be able to reach a comprimise so its best to say good luck and move on before your titties get in even more of a twist

Hancock breeds huge numbers of pups each year and with large numbers being bred there is bound to be some good dogs come through, my problem is the dogs are a business pure and simple and to me thats wrong, I have seen a couple of Hancock bred lurchers work and they were ok and I have been to the kennels and wouldn't buy a dog thats parents were only taken out of a kennel or off a chain to mate. I wouldn't breed off an untested dog as it reduces the chance of getting a working dog and whether its Kennel Club Pommerabnians going for £800 or lurchers going for £200, peddling is peddling......

I kept pygmys for almost 10 years, first of all you will need a holding number from DEFRA or you wont be able to keep or move a goat at all. You will need to worm and treat it for lice regularly and also may need bluetongue vaccinations. Foot trimming will be every 6-8 weeks and diet wise they need access to grass, fresh hay in winter and also a good quality concentrate. A small draught proof shed with plenty of straw bedding will be adequate for shelter but you had better have a large garden as they clear grass pretty quickly.

I have a daughter of Miner and Raven, she is 13 now and going deaf and senile (like her owner) and was never tested enough to warrent breeding so I had her spayed, she was an awesome ratter but not dug too enough, when working she was a bayer not mixer and has been the easiest dog to keep in over 20 years of keeping dogs, never shown any aggression to other dogs in a working situation and never made a peep in kennels, unlike the gobby shites in their now
