we had a duck egg like that a couple of months ago. We have about 15 hens, 3 ducks and 2 bantams. The ducks eggs are normally quite large (1 1/2x bigger than a large chicken egg) and the bantam eggs are 1/3 the size of the chickens eggs. This duck egg was smaller than the bantam. The only way we knew it was a ducks egg was it is a Cayuga with VERY distinct coloration. It was a bit smaller than yours. when I was a kid we'd periodically get the "bag-o-puss" eggs, they made for MINT bombs to throw at my unsuspecting bitch of a sister no wonder we don't speak now ....

I've not heard of an ear going down after the dog was 5-6 months? Not that it doesn't happen but I've not seen it in 15 years af being around russells and coloreds without "assistance". And I've seen people glue pennies, stitch metal weights, tape, etc and nothing worked other than a "crush". If it doesn't bother you, just leave it, the dog won't work any better with 2 dropped ears. I think it gives them character and personality and wish any of our terriers had that! I love it when the collie who normally creeps around with her ears back sees something and perks them forward and up, also

I have a decent scar on my ankle from a broken bottle imbedded in the clay of a lakeshore, it took ages to heal and scared badly. I was just glad it was me and not one of the dogs. Of course the next summer, same lake but different area, one of my dogs DID get sliced badly. Not much you can do to prevent it other than picking up trash wherever you are, even if it isn't yours.

I have heard that keeping up on your eyes and oral health are two things that can drastically reduce/eliminate migranes

I am rarely ill, I just don't have the time. But I do occasionally get migranes, but normally only after weeks of incredible stress and no sleep. I have only had a couple in the past few years, but I used to get them every few months for about 8 years. The ONLY thing that ever works for me it to drink a room temperature regular Pepsi from a can with a few Bayer asprin and then I have to be in a dark room with no or only very minimal light. I have to prop up with a bunch of pillows so I'm not sitting straight but not laying down flat either, and it has to be dead quiet. I mean not a peep f

We were roading the dogs to get ready for last season in an area we had just gotten permission on and hadn't been to see the other 3 farmers in that area. It is in the middle of freaking nowhere, no houses, just a few farms with vast stretches of farm roads and nothing on them, pretty open areas. Roughly 8 mile stretch, it was about 9pm and dark. All of a sudden from nowhere a big truck pulls up behind us fast, switching their lights on. There we were, whistling the dogs in as one is a slowpoke and one ranges out too far ahead. heard of one that had an unlucky bite to the side of the neck under the ear, had killed it's fox but was dead when dug to. Otherwise the dog was barely marked and had been a decent dog for about 1/2 season

Some lovely member on here forwarded my post criticizing the ref's decision and the event in general to the ISCF and they are "considering legal action". For me airing MY perception that the ref and their event was crap? They MUST be joking! At the end of the day it doesn't matter as they are just an amateur organization who has bullied their way to their spot at the "top" of the amateur organizations, and as he's going pro they don't matter anymore.
