  1. Just got a scanner sorted lads, so will get a few old pics up that were taken pre-digital. This dog has passed on now, but he was the hardest, meanest and one of the greatest dogs I will ever own, the only other was his son who has also passed on know. Just in response to the link to the Dogo's swinging the pig, they are big dogs and I think there is 4-5 of them on that pig, this bloke was 27 kg and that is all you need if you have the right dog, caught me countless numbers of big pigs over time one out, that is fair sport to me. This pic was taken after he had been hammered by an -90 kg bo
  2. Absolute beauty that first one Dawn, the others are not too shabby either, we don't get stuff like that here, where you situated?
  3. Cosgrove used to be my Brigade Commander, really in touch with the troops kind of man, his son joined the army as an enlisted man, this really shows the kind of affinity he had with us diggers, and it was a bloody good comeback.
  4. I carry a 3L 'Camelback' which I drink from myself and squirt into the dogs mouth, they soon get the hang of standing under the stream of water. Water is the only thing that will keep the dog properly hydrated, I wouldn't use the tea and honey in the field. If any of your dogs ever overheat, which is a real problem in Aus. try and get them to a body of water and submerse everything but their head, this seems to work a treat. Just my personal experiences though, hope it has helped.
  5. The 6.5 is not a very popular cartridge in Aus anymore, not sure why, just wondering if someone can shed some light on the 6.5 having more downrange power than a .270. I don't have any experience with the 6.5 but all my reloading data shows a .270 projectile of same weight leaving the barrel a hell of a lot faster, which in turn would allow it to hold onto its hitting power at a longer range, if I am missing something please point it out. I have been shooting a .270 for years but would quite happily try another cartridge that was a bit easier on the ears. Spud you seem to be getting into the

  16. DS, top reading, Bundy is Bundaberg Rum, lovely drop mate, Australian made, at least us colonials can do something right hey! Has anyone ever had Mekong (Thai Whiskey), it is bleedin horrible, but does the job in about half hour and you only need a few drinks. Stabs stop salivating mate, I know you love it. It is actually very good for polishing furniture.
  17. V-Max, in our heat we have to get the skin of fast and while the animal is hot it is fairly difficult to punch the skin off, hence the use of a knife. I once shot a spikey and didn't find him till next morning, the skin virtually fell off.
