  1. The nicest one I ever made was a plum liqueur. Had a real syrup texture to it, very smooth to drink. Atb Sox
  2. I bought new ones last year for making sloe ect liqueurs, and lost a lot of the alcohol content. Can't explain why, just something that happened. Was disappointing. Might buy new seals this year, and try one batch to see how it goes. Atb Sox
  3. One thing i would like to add to thia is, make sure your containers are air tight. Otherwise the alcohol will evaporate, and it will loose a lot of it content Atb sox
  4. The two dogs I have here, I took them in as pups to save them going to the pound. Couldn't be more happier with them, or ask any more off them. I know a person has to pay some price for their dog, but to me anything over €250 max is to much imo. Atb Sox
  5. Exactly. Where a dog from the pound could, and often is twice the dog worth a couple of grand. Also it gets a second chance at life which is a good thing in my eyes. Atb Sox
  6. I wouldn't do this way either to be honest. I just freeze the sloes till the sink is split on them, then just add the sugar and what ever alcohol you like. I use vodka and white rum, leave in a dark press for about 6 weeks. Strain the fruit, put it back into the jar and top it up again with cider, leave again for a couple of weeks. A nice drink. I have done this with cherries, blackberries and blueberries. With some fresh chillie slices add as well for flavour. Atb Sox
  7. I don't agree either. But that's the sad way dogs are going these days. A lot of these people value their dogs on the price they paid for the dog, not the actual dog it's self. It's mostly a fashion for these, that have more money than sense imo. Atb Sox
  8. Ingredients 12oz of fruit (350g) 3 oz of caster sugar (75g) 1 bottle of gin (75cl) A small dash of almond essence A couple of jam jars with good, tight-fitting lids (sterilized and cooled preferably) A jelly bag Decorative bottles for eventual storage – – – Wash the sloes in warm water, and remove (or drown!) any hitchhikers in insect form that may have made their way to the sink. Using a sturdy needle (such as a darning needle) prick each fruit a few times, and divide the spoils between the two jam jars. Put half the sugar and half the gin (or as much
  9. That's some amount of money. To each their own I suppose, if that's what keep them happy. It's understandable why people get breeding these type of dogs for money like that. Not saying that it's right or wrong. Atb Sox
  10. Bulls are deadly. Seen my old fella after he was killed by one. Destroyed him. Wouldn't mind the same bull was as quite as a lamb up until then, a real pet nearly. Cows with young calves are dangerous as well, especially if their not used to you or if you have a dog with you. Atb Sox
  11. People just buying into money making machines. Once them bitches come into heat they will want to make their money back on them. Poor dogs is all I can say. Atb Sox
  12. Just seen a French bulldog for sale here, €2000, crazy money. And British bull dogs for €2500 Is there actually people out there that would pay that price?. Atb Sox
  13. Also the the best thing with goats is the cheese you get to make. Atb Sox
  14. I understand fully what you mean. Nothing worse than an over weight, unexcerised dog, it shows pure laziness on the owners part imo. This girl is fit and healthy, and she loves her walks and runs. The bike will be a new step in the excerise game. This girl is 19" and 36 lb. Atb Sox
  15. That sound like a great break for a few days away. As I said, it was just walking my girl, about 7 to 10 miles average every second day. I feel on the bike she could get that bit extra push, as you said to help with stamina. As she's not a working or hunting dog, I not worried about the top end of the stamina side, just to keep her fit and healthy for long trecks in the hills and forests. Atb Sox
  16. Stock and game are safe enough with my girl (so far anyways lol) it's people I worry about. She's love people, running up to them to greet them. Not everyone likes to see a pitbull running towards them, even if it doesn't mean any harm. Safer alround, for dog and everyone just to keep her on a lead. Atb Sox
  17. Wont be to bad for me, as it's only one I would be taking out, the other is a young pup. I wouldn't like my one run loose either, not worth the risk of bumping into someone. Atb Sox
  18. I only every walked mine. But the bike sounds like a good way for a bit more intense excerise. Going to try it out this week to see how we get on. Atb sox
  19. Hopefully they will return in the future, it's sad to see the humble rabbit nearly wiped out. They gave and give plenty of good sport to nearly all types of hunting men and women. Atb sox
  20. No point in dropping healthy rabbits on infected land so. Wonder how long does it take the land to be free from the virus after the rabbits have died off. Atb Sox
  21. You could try a 22.250, a bit large for rabbits, but great for foxes. Or a .17, has good range also, should take a fox in and around 50 to yards. Atb sox
  22. Thought about doing this myself a while back, what put me off was how would they adapt to living in the wild, especially with on other wild rabbits to learn off so to speak. It would be unnatural to them, no wild instincts, that's just my thoughts on it, I could be wrong. Atb sox
  23. Do you think the young of these released rabbits would carry the anti virus in their system's, say to the likes of rvd or rvd2 Any sox
  24. What would be the average distance would most people cycle daily with their dogs, especially ones just starting out using the bike for exceriseing. Atb sox
  25. Same thing here where I'm from. Up until two years ago, there was a good healthy population of rabbits. Now nothing. Only seen two in the last number of months. Theirs hardly anyone around here shooting or hunting, just the odd young lad with a shotgun, and now one ferreting either. I found a few dead ones above ground, with no marks on them, or signs of mixy either. It's not down to lack of food, farming practices or over hunting. They just seem to die off. Sad really, you'd miss seeing them about the place . Atb sox
