  1. So flicking the feckers off was the wrong thing to do then?
  2. Cheers...... MATE! ?, I've got spray in the cupboard so will be sticking it in the van for future use. Sporn of the Devil those horse flies?
  3. Dread the thought of that Ben, bad enough on your hand? Your misses might be hoping for a quiet night??
  4. I think that one's nicked Bonos glasses?
  5. Just say it man..... Ring necked doves?
  6. To top off last nights fook up I woke up with 2 big fecking horse fly bites?, remember flicking them off my hand. Puffed up and blistered today ?
  7. I do the same routine, but only this time I assumed the mag was in the rifle like it usually is, will be doing a check, double check, triple check in future?
  8. I used to remove the bolts out of mine Ben at first with the same thought in mind, but don't bother now
  9. Don't usually do it myself to be honest, the only reason the mag was put in the ammo box was due to me having a few rounds left in it. I'd put the rifle away and removed the rounds and put the mag with the ammo. I must have knocked it off 22 ammo when I was getting the 308 ammo out. But will make sure I check its in the rifle before setting off in future.
  10. It's always the bloody case, had another one run out the sheep field and cross the road on the way home ?
  11. You should start writing your memoirs Ian, bet they'd make a cracking read. Good result and great write up????
  12. I was well pissed off mate? Yeah 2 cubs and adult were in the cow field. Then the bottom of the field one jump through the gap in the gate, we had a Mexican stand off then it went through the bushes. I've seen that one before walking down the fence line to the gate through the NV spotter.
  13. Well I thought I'd have a mooch tonight and take some sunbathing bunnies. Then have a go at a few more with the NV. Or so I thought? Picked up my bag with all my gear in, torches NV battery, NV spotter, spare batteries, gloves, face cover, all present and correct. Opened the safe grabbed my rifle of choice for tonight, the 22lr, this was already in the slip as I'd used it on a previous night, I picked up the ammo and set off to the farm. Great stuff out nice and early to have a go at the crop munchers I got to the farm, opened the gates and parked up. Jumps out the van and o
  14. I better rephrase what I said when I quoted on SD post. I dropped a few jackdaws, rooks and carrions......... Just incase some one thinks I can't tell the difference. Oh hang on.... ? They are all part of the crow family so its easier just saying crows!
  15. Totally agree about the full body flocked deeks Phil. I have 6 flocked half shells and struggled getting them to come in. I bought 6 flocked full body and the crows certainly seem more interested.
  16. Good going SD I had a couple of days the other week on the Crows, missed more than I shot but still dropped a few for the farmer to hang upside down. He told me he had enough by the 2nd day I went, so as I drive to and from the farm there is a little farm shop I pass, so I popped in. Asked the lad being the counter if he wanted a few crows as I've noticed his fields getting hammered, Needless to say he was very happy taking them off my hands. After a little chat I gave him one of my business cards, you never know it may lead to a bit more permission?
  17. I've got the T1X in 17 hmr with the 16" barrel, going to get a DTP mod for it soon. its a great feeling rifle, was contemplating the 22lr as well but my trusty CZ455 does the job just nicely for the moment??
  18. Post in the airgun section mate, I'm sure the lads on there will help you out. If it's sighted in at 45 it will shoot high, if you have mill dots in your scope aim lower off centre to bring you shot down.
  19. Never really thought about coppering tbh SD, if the accuracy of the rifle starts becoming a problem then I will start looking at coppering. I thought the snake would remove both?
