Yep, baiting in the corner were we stood and took the dog, that's where I've seen it heading on the mornings so dropped the rabbits there. So far the baits paying off.
-
The other night I'd been on another perm clearing rabbits from around the out houses and a couple of ferals from the cow shed. Managed 5 rabbits in the space of 15 minutes. The next day I finished work and scattered the 5 rabbits at the stables/sheep fields and set the camera up. I left it for a few days and went back up today to check the camera with a few more rabbits to bait up that I keep in the freezer as a reserve. Now I've only seen this fox early doors 0500-0600, but thought I'd bait to see if I could get it to come in on a night. Checked the camera and bi

Good going SL??

That's what you call a good day out, well worth putting the hours in when the end result is as good as that. I can only dream of days like that? just don't seem to get the numbers on my perm, they always seem to be on some other crop (good for my Farmer but not for my freezer ?)
-
Cheers BC, I've got the rabbit out the freezer, hopefully it doesn't defrost to quickly and stink the van up before tomorrow ? I keep a few whole rabbits in the garage freezer for times like these when I've not had a chance to get at the hoppers.

The way your going on Meece about the shouting and whistling it's like you think I was balling and screaming at it then whistling fecking dicksy at it? I shouted oui once and whistled once to try and stop it in its tracks, it didn't work, I used a mouth caller today to try and bring it into my permission. The cat food that was put down was to try and keep it occupied in the field if it turned up, mainly due to the horses being in the field and potentially would have got in the way of a shot. Stav I totally agree about baiting up, you can break the habit of the fox by baiting a

Not to worry mate, I've got 3 frozen rabbits still in the garage what I can use

Time will tell my friend, time will tell? Best get some more hoppers for bait?
-
It was either you or Meece that jinxed me ? You mentioned 11 pages then Meece said it will do something random or not show up
-
Believe it or not Meece the cat food keeps it in the area longer sniffing about. I won't be shooting it in the there land in broad daylight as its wide open and has houses near by, to many prying eyes. I'll be doing it the right way and getting in touch with them and asking if it's OK for me to access the land. Yeah bloody horses, they are a pain in the ass (no pun intended ?).
-
Definitely not ?

Well I was up at 0300 and in the field by 0400. Got myself set up with a nice little vantage point and baited the area with cat food. In typical horse fashion the horses decide they want to have a nosy and hang around the baite area? In the end they decide to move off but I'm sure they ate the food? Times passing by and 0530 comes and goes but no sign of the ginger. 0600 comes and guess what I spot in the other fecking field, yep you've guessed it the ginger. This field is used by a model airplane club and I don't have permission to shoot on it. T

That's an insult to crabs???

It's not to bad, there is 45 acres of field, the sheep are always in a certain area away from the horses. The foxes tend to keep away from the stables and yard as they have a big German Shepherd guarding the place on a night and believe me you don't mess with him. We've shot 2 on there over the past couple of months and they tend to stick to a certain path along the hedgerows. Hopefully my early start in the morning will pay off but nothing is for certain.

Fook that I'd crack the camera lense ?

Seriously Ben, you dont? I'll paint a picture Picture a piece of crumpled up foil and open it up & think it's skin, then draw a face on it and stick a ciggy in the mouth hopefully you get the picture ?

After a discussion with the lady who runs the stables and the sheep farm, she advised me that she had seen a fox on a few occasions around 0600 in one of the fields. We had a walk to where she sees it and I told her I'd be back up in the morning early doors. So...... Alarms clock goes off at 4am, I'm washed, ready, got fueled up with a strong coffee and get the rifle out the safe. The stables are only 10 minutes up the road so get there for 5am. I parked the van up get the rifle & trigger sticks out the van. Rifle and trigger sticks in hand I head off to
