Glad I was around in your days ?years ago no one travelled it was all close nit who knew who sort of stuff , first time I travelled it 60 mile and payed the princely sum of £5 coz the bitch I fancied was mainly white the rest were expensive at the time at £25 omg them were the days ?

I never met or knew the man ,just was told storeys by a ex employer of his, hence why I was asking , there’s some good genuine lurcher lads about and some bloody dodgy ones aswell glad I was taught from a young one never part with ones cash till you have the goods and never buy a pig in a poke

As I see it there welcome to churn out litters after litters unless the lurcher world has changed , as I remember it if you had surplus you used to get every nutter in the country ringing or visiting you ,and not really wanting a pup in the first place

Just honest working whippet mate , breeding is still in thort , it was a friends whippet that brought it to mind really but unfortunately it’s life was cut short ,pups would have been kept between friends , it’s having surplus that puts you off breeding ,many years now since I’ve bred but not forgot it

All I can say mate if they silly enough to pay that sort of cash that’s up to them , but things are going to get more difficult ,coz no doubt studs fees will av risen aswell

Whatever happened to who and what you know ? The most I’ve ever payed is for the bitch I’m running now a massive £150 others over the years have been less or gifted , I see what you mean tho there was a certain guy had constant supply of (working ) lol bedlington pups bred from his mrs pet bitch always pm for details lol .

What working dog folk are buying off these pets for homes etc sites , surely genuine lads ain’t looking down them lines for pups or paying that silly money anyway so it doubtful these dogs ain’t going to working homes in the first place so can’t see it making any difference

Not much difference I shouldn’t think the same as for years lurcher prices went up when they had a few rosettes under there belt , it’s best you just follow your own nose and you won’t go far wrong , I for one wouldn’t pay silly prices ,there’s still decent folk out there not breeding for profit .
