  1. I'll have to give that a go as I've also got a huge hooter!
  2. Yes .....I found I need mine quite high, started at my mouth, but this was causing the ammo to fly over the target, had to raise it to just below eye level/ cheek level.
  3. Thanks......interesting, my gut feeling was to go for the small hathcock sniper...what size hands roughly would you say you are? Mine are large...9/10 glove size, but I reckon the small sniper might fit better than the standard one......only reason been that someone on the net said the standard seemed massive. I tend to shoot with the catapult on its side......don't know if that makes a difference. Only ever shot ott, but I'm wanting to give ttf ago. Im loving shooting at the minute, I sometimes have to stop because of my muscles.....but it's great to be back enjoying it.
  4. I know this is a personal preference thing.......but I'm going to treat myself sometime soon to a new catapult and I was considering either bill hays scorpion (small one I think) or gamekeeper johns ppmg (think the names are correct). I suffer with hand fatigue so I need something comfortable and hopefully will minimise the strain..... I suppose I won't know until I hold either catapult. Anybody got any experience of using either and what did you think? Any other recommendations appreciated.
  5. After looking at videos on YouTube I guess there's no right way to do it as I found that different people use different methods with the same results. Bill Hays said find a comfortable anchor point see where your ammo ends up and raise or lower your catapult accordingly. Another fella said your anchor point is determined for you, if you pull to your mouth and the ammo hits low your anchor point needs to be fixed lower to raise your ammo. How did you find your anchor point....?
  6. I've got the berghaus version of this, best hat I've used....not too hot, adjustable and the peak is great if you have glasses and it's raining.
  7. Had a look on Facebook and there's a few by this name.......do you know the area he's from or is he on a catapult site within Facebook? Thanks
  8. It's ok I'm been a bit thick the lip at the top stops it biting fully in the centre.
  9. Thanks for that......I've done the same as you said, it does seem to do it better that way, although not as centred as the ott. Just wondering do most of you get your ammo off eBay.....I'm using 9.5. cheers
  10. It'll do the job, just seems odd been slightly off centre. Least of my problems when it comes to accuracy.
  11. Pretty sure it will just do the same, but put the clips to the top.
  12. Cheers Gooner.....yes that's exactly, it holds the bands off centre.
  13. Right so I've only ever shot ott, but I thought I would look into trying ttf. Thing is it just doesn't seem right on this scout replica ( using the clips that is) ((can't comment on the original as I never tried ttf on it before I lost it)). Im using the supplied fixing clips which align spot on for ott......there's only one edge of the clip that is made to secure the band into the groove of the frame....like I said works spot on for ott, but the hole in the square clips is off set so when you turn the clip so it's fixing edge can be used for ttf it throws the bands off the centre, so the
  14. Had one for a years, but I haven't used it....good as it seems I can't seem to get to grips with it. If you haven't got a mora clipper give one a try....great knives.
  15. It's a cracking little knife.
  16. Ther is also another brand similar to mora called hultafor........I've got this one.....no sharp tip on this so wouldn't suit everyone. so CHEAP.....£3.65 https://www.axminster.co.uk/hultafors-safety-knife-sk-134839?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3ZP39siZ3gIViJPtCh2M5QG4EAQYBCABEgIgyPD_BwE
  17. That's the one..."clipper", although they do all different ones...all good.Ive got both stainless and the carbon...both around same price.
  18. Best knife I've come across for the money are "mora" green handle one with plastic sheath.........carbon or stainless, excellent grippy handle, good in the hand, keep a good edge and real sharp. Bloody brilliant and so cheap.
  19. Got mine yesterday. I gave it a little rub with some fine sandpaper where the seems are as they were a little rough on mine, didn't want the bands rubbing on them. Looking forward to getting out with it.
  20. Can you get spare clips anywhere other than sure shot? Suppose it's possible to make something with wing nuts or similar. I had a fork hit on my lost scout and it snapped the clip unfortunately.
  21. Just wondering do you use the 25 to 20 on the scout replica? cheers
  22. I got away with handling charges when I ordered from them.........unusual as I usually get collared for things like that.
  23. Ordered one this morning. Have to sort myself some spare bands out now. cheers
