Hey again mate, i am on the BBS aswell. But i do prefer this forum. Like you say everyone on here are far more down to earth. I find that no matter what airgun i use, (and iv used a few) Crossman Accupell will always come out on top. They seem to shoot accurately out of all guns. Hope this helps and glad to see we have another great member on board. Cheers

Hey mate, iv just listed a post at the exact same time as you. Asking people how they clean there HMRS's. Iv herd of this bore solvent stuff, supposed to give the bore a rearly good clean, keep an eye on the post. Cheers

Hello people. I have decided to now give my HMR a good spring clean and service, now that the rough weather has set in for a while. I just wanted to no what other peoples usual servicing andcleaning rituals where. Whats other peoples ways of cleanind the bore and other parts to maintain good accuracy and reliability? I usualy just use abore snake every 20 rounds and every 100 use a phosphor brush and jag. I have read that its a good idea to use a bore cleaning soulution to strip away the baked on coper fouling. Does this improve accuracy alot? All info welcome. Cheers

Ok. Il drop the price to £50 posted. Cheers

Very interesting process, and idea. How accurate are they though???

I find that wind does affect the impact point of the .17hmr. However it only gets realy bad after 120yrds. I find that in a 10-15mph crosswind, the bullet will drift as much as 6'' at 200yrds. The best way to combat this is to practice in difgferant conditions, and find out how much you need to aim of at given distances for diffeant wind speeds. That way you will always no where to aim and, its also a great feeling of acheivement when you can consistantly hit a small target, in varying conditions. Try this website, gives a great range of ballistic data for different calibres. http:/

Hello people! I have for sale a used but still in great condition Yukon Tracks pop up hide. I have had this for a few months and i find i just never use it. I brought it second hand from this forum a few months ago. It is about 6 foot tall in the middle, and has enough room inside for 2 or even 3 people. There is no damage to the hide itself, however the staorage bag is ripped a little, which is temporarely fixd with safety pins. This hide does not have a floor to it, and has guide ropes and tent pegs to anchor it to the ground, if there is any wind about. There are 3 multi open point window

Thanks for voting mate. I agree with you that when out stalking, using the available support presented at the time ie... fence post, gate etc.. is best. Cheers again

Hello good people! I was wondering today while out shooting, which is the easyist and most accurate to shoot from. A BIPOD OR A BEAN BAG or similar support. Personaly i use a harris bipod on my HMR and i dont use one on the air rifle. I find that genearaly when im shootin with the HMR im nearly always lying down or waiting to take a shot from a rest with the bipod deployed. I do find the bipod to be very useful in aiding accuracy. However when on the rare occasion that i find i have to take a shot standing or kneeling. I find the bipod adds to much wait to the front of the rifle to

Nice one mate, very true words there. The HMR is an amazing round. What brand of ammo do you use? Cheers
-
WOW!! You should start a buisness and make them as a carrier. You could make a fortune. However i suppse each one takes so much time to create, you would have a huge back log and not much spare time. They are beutifull though.

I agree mate. I noticed that if i zeroed the my HMR at 100 yrds with a silencer on, the took it of the bullets where striking about 2 inches high. Which suggests a loss of velocity and power with the silencer on. Cheers

Hello people! I have for sale a FAS AP640 match target air pistol. I am selling this on behalf of my father who has had it for about 5 years. It has been well looked after and has just recently had a full service. The pistol is a pneumatic piston air pistol. Simply break the action and cock and then on the return stroke the piston compresses air into the internal cylinder where it is released when you pull the trigger. This is not a spring piston or a gas ram air pistol. It there for has zero recoil and is very accurate. 2 inch groups out to 20 meters is possible if you are firing of

Hey people! Has anyone ever tryed makng beef jerky, i saw it done on Ray Mears Bush Craft and was thinking of giving it a go. Whats the best cut of meat to use, what seasoning and what is the best process? Cheers

Get the Brookes trigger kit from South Yorkshire Shooting Supples. The dogs b*****s for under £15. You can adjust the pull weight and get rid of any creep. Hope this helps. Cheers

Hey again mate! I find it shoots better and holds its groups better if you bed the action. The reason being if you zero the rifle in warmer/ colder weather as the weather temp and humidity rises or falls the wood will expand or contract slightly, putting pressure on differant parts of the action and barrel. Therefor shifting the zero. This isnt a problem with synthetic stocks as you dont have the expanding or contracting in the wood. Well done for floating the barrel mate, thats the first step. This should help with the group sizes, next try to bed the action. Be aware that if you do it y

Hey mate! I have the same rifle and i did find that the magazine and the feed cycle a bit sticky at first. However after a few hundred rounds and after the action has been cycled a few times, it should slicken up after, try a few drops of 3 in 1 oil on the bolt slide helps to slicken up the action as well. As for the mag, try takeing it apart and stretching the spring a little. This should give it more upwards pressure on the rounds and there for it should catch each round and load it into the breech. I have liquid metal bedded the action on my rifle and this helps to combat long term zero

BSA Sweet 17 HRM rifle scope 3-12x40
TOMY,HMR replied to hecmac's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Hey mate! Im afraid theres nothing wrong with the scope. Its just the quality of the lenses isnt good enough to cope with very high magnification. You get this problem with all the lower end of the market scopes. Im not for one minute insulting you or saying that the scope is useless, simply find the magnification number where the scope will focus well at the futherst range that you intend to shoot at, and then stick to that setting. I found i had this problem with all of the lower priced scopes iv had, and its only now that iv invested in a NIKON scope that i can see what i was missing, liter -
Hey mate! Iv got a CZ american .17 hmr. Best rifle out there, for value for money IMO. Get a trigger kit from 'South Yorkshire Shooting Supplies' and it will out shoot all other rifles in its catergory. Hope this helps. Cheers
