  1. yes Rocky i know the story, yes better being fair in the judging than a crook, thing is when i went to the shows it was a real joke to see what these so called judges picked for first and second places,
  2. just on a last note about judging dogs, years ago i used to take my dogs to a few game fairs and most times the same judges would be judging the lurchers and the terriers at every game fair in Ireland, and they brought their own click with them, judges names like King, Kelly,Erwin and Byrne, you would never have a chance no mater how good your dog looked for when kelly judged king got first and byrne got second or if erwin judged terriers byrne got first and kelly got second prize,so that did take the goodness out of the shows,
  3. My three lurchers get 5 mile a day road walking and get to gallop two times a week weather its rain hail or snow,i mostly gallop them on the beach in the early hours of the morning when its not to hot and you are less likely to meet anyone else there,as with the laws here in Ireland you cant run a dog on the beach, and he must be kept on a lead at all times,as for my terriers, the come to the beach aswell but dont get the same walking as the lurchers do,but they do get walked but not for as far as the lurchers do...
  4. thanks for your reply Velocette, just looking at the two their is not much difference in the two apart from the screws that put it together, and the price of a harris of 100 pounds compared to 40 pounds to the rockmount.
  5. Hello fellow shooters, just a couple of questions if i could, 1..does any of you use either one these bipods,2..what do you think of them.3...which one would you go for if you had a choice, i have just been browsing the web at the different gun shops in the UK and the prices of the harris bipods compared to the rockmount bipods are unbelieveable, the rockmount bipods are nearly half the price of the harris bipods, and they look the same but do the do the same job.
  6. Dogman,i think you would be better finding out where he lives and take the time to find him and either get your money back or take his Fcuking head off, i answered a guy on here a year ago for a load of dvds for sale, he was up north of Ireland,he gave me a address to send the money but i decided to drive instead to collect them and hand over the cash, but when i rang him he made the excuses that he was going away for a few weeks and he would be in touch with me,and that was the last i heard of him,
  7. sorry,so what wil you be selling George.
  8. not 100 per cent sure but i think that fair has come and gone
  9. well Ferret,i think you would be better to seperate them when you want to breed,i seperated mine around may and then paired what i wanted to breed, bred a few bullies and goldies, and a good lot of mules,[linnet x roller][goldie x irish fancy][redpoll x irish fancy] and siskin x irish fancy.
  10. never had a problem like that but as it was said a bit of oil would,nt go a miss,i have had my harris on my .22.s for the last ten years and never had anything like that, just thinking of getting a harris bipod for my .223 and was wondering what price are they now, the 13-27 is the one i have on my .22 so i think i want that for my CZ.223,
  11. Hi Ferret,i have a avairy,keep most types in it,bullies,goldies,linnets,redpolls,greeners,siskins,and a few canaries,
  12. Years ago a lady i knew had a accidental breeding of a wolfhound and a greyhound,a friend of mine got a bitch pup of her just to see what it would turn out like, she ended out looking like a heavy set deerhound greyhound firsh cross, she would run hare all day but had no hope at catching them, killed a odd rabbit, but would kill foxes to beat the band, and anything else else it came across on the lamp,,,he intended to breed it on to a greyhound some time later but his hopes came to a end when he was out with it and it got hit by a car,.....one thing i have to say is she had a great coat, great feet,

  14. Thanks lads for the reply,s, yesterday i set out to target it in at 100 yards, placed a peice of plywood at with a bulleye at 100 yards, got the groupings to around a half inch from one another so i was happy with that,at 200 yards i was about a inch below the target and at 250 yards i was about was about the same, now at 300 yards i was about 6 inches below the point of aim but at this distance it still done damage to the sheet of plywood,so i left it at that,on my way back to the car i come across a fox out on a mooch so i decided to take a chance and see
  15. most times when travellers have had their time with their dogs they usually breed of them and then sell the bitch,i would be on two minds about buying this dog,1.either hes fcuk all use or his sell buy date is nearly up,and most of the travellers i know off hunt hare all year round so probably hes giving a bit of tongue, but if your still interested in him,try him out on the lamp and see what hes like.
  16. does,nt look that bad,but only thing i found out with knackers dogs were that they had a mind of their own when hunting, and they tend to do their own thing in the field,o yes i forgot, the smell of car oil of them, where them knackers dip them to get rin of the mange,
  17. 1997 i dug or either bolted 97 foxed for 4 different gun clubs, even now since i got my guns ten years i still like to dig or bolt them,
  18. Thanks SportingShooter for your reply,i will try that, most times i do try to get them as close as i can but as you know yourself sometimes this does,nt always work,so you have to get the most out of your rifle and the distance.
  19. hello all fellow shooters, just a bit of information if i could on targeting in my CZ .223, what distance do you target yours in at,i changed my scope only last week so i will have to target mine in again,i think i targeted mine in at around 50 yards when i got it last year and it was good for around 200 yards, and after that it started to drop, your advice would be greatly welcomed, Bullx [sorry, meant to say using 50 to 55 grain american eagle]......Bullx

  21. Got a bit of a hiding when i was about 12,we were out ferretting on land we had permission for and this person came out from nowhere shouting at us to leave his rabbits alone and f**k off and never come back,i told him we were only ferretting and he hit me a right few times, gave me two black eyes and a few bruises, when we got home i told my father and he brought us[my younger brother 10] back to this land but we couldnt find him and no one knew him,we never ferretted that area for a while after that,so about ten years later i was ferretting the same peice of ground and who turns up only this b
