Mate there’s an old fella lives around here pops in for a chat from time to time and he designed solar roof tiles that would power a whole house 90% of the time he made his money from it but the energy company that bought it put it straight under lock and key because they don’t really want it go right back to Nicolas Tesla nothing to do with the Barbie car but he had free leccy for all years ago and was killed for it everything boils down to power control and money

On a lot of canals the crt own a foot of bank all along and they can charge you half the average mooring fees for that area but if your land is to the water it’s free the land itself if agriculture is about 10k an acre

Regarding locks mate they are narrow 7ft or wide 14ft or like on the Severn ship size locks I can’t take my boat were my daughter is because I’m 11ft across

Back to it climbed 295ft since leaving the Severn they should hit the halfway mark end of day there now near autherley about to join the Birmingham canal

All depends on your time constraints really daughter has places to be and people to meet (boats being sold )so on quite a tight schedule but generally people just choose a loop that takes roughly how long they have to spare from here a typical loop journey would be about a fortnight up the Severn round canals and back down the Avon and some people just keep on going and have no home base daughters here at the moment lol

Coming out of holt fleet lock got a pub mooring in a few mile for the first night be going through stourport onto the narrows by mid morning
