  5. I wouldn't say a living mate just pocket money, average about 50 a week, we dont have a season they breed at different times so luck of the draw weather the young are about although they are more prevalent at some times of the year, dosnt even slow me down. I do spotlight and we get a few more numbers when I do, but the pup is not starting lamping until she is 12 mths old she just turned 5 months ( Cant wait ) my old dog just cant do it anymore to sore. There was a lot of ppl ferreting, but since the numbers dropped after the calisi virus hit so did the ferreters now they are breeding up ag
  6. Well I woke up this morning with anticipation, and excitement with the prospect of another day outdoors, doing the thing that I love. The dogs shared in my excitement as soon as they seen me heading for the ferret cage, I felt sorry as I looked at my pregnant brown bitch, and said you cant come girl, stay, I wont be long, she pleaded with her eyes as I walked out the door. Car packed dogs, and ferrets loaded a 1 hour pleasant drive in front of me to get to Des's place (one of my permissions) on the way I contemplated our plan of attack. When I arrived, Des was already outside with the ga

  11. This is my ferret cage 5.7m long, 2m wide, the run is 2m high has mist air-conditioning ( Gets hot here in the land down under) and is on wheels. It houses 1 hob (vasectomised) 12 jills. I got this as a kit for $200 AUD at an auction, A lot cheaper than I could make it for I have added a frame, floor, wheels etc.
  12. Gday and welcome from Australia
  13. Awesome job guy's, you would of needed a backhoe to dig him out in Australia. I haven't had to dig a burrow ever and haven't lost a ferret for over 15 years, different style and type of ferrets I imagine ( only use jills that dont stay with the rabbit) although I have had some long waits, most of the ground here is sun baked like solid rock. Great read WELL DONE.
  14. I have 1 Vasectomised hob and 12 jills he is one happy fellow. All live in one cage no problem with them coming off heat
