  1. Aye . . .thought as much. Email address for them is right there Deker. You're obviously of the opinion that if someone says something that's contrary to your rantings they must be lying. Put your money where your mouth is, contact NWP firearms Licensing Dept, and ask them yourself Deker. What's wrong....chicken?
  2. when did you ask N Wales WHY NOT, and what was their response?. Because I told you, cloth ears - it doesn't concern me. Probably best you keep quiet then about things you obviously have no specific detailed knowledge of. That's not what I said either, I said the fact NWP don't allow HMR for foxes doesn't concern me. Do you actually read posts Deker, or do you just go off half-cocked at everything? Good grief, I have given you many reasons why they WILL, but you seem determined to bury your head in the sand. I have outlined many areas of information, you hav

Their contact details are readily available. You seem more upset about it than I do. Cra

  5. For someone who doesn't care you are making a lot of fuss and creating a false impression. Bar-stool and internet lawyers, don't you just love them.
  6. I think it's getting slightly repetitive Deker. As said if you want to question NWP's licensing criteria - crack on. I'm already told you it doesn't concern me. Try reading my posts. Ta.
  7. With all due respect someone needs to challenge them, the Home Office (in simple terms the Police regions Head Office) says the HMR is fine for fox, who is a regional office to argue/question/go against a Head Office ruling? To what end though? Whether we like it or not we're all subject to the arbitrary policy decisions of individual Chief Constables, ranging from calibre suitability, ammunition quantity allowed to be held, and a myriad of other idiosyncrasies. Calibre suitability will always be subjective, even between shooters (as this thread demonstrates), it's hardly surprising to se

  10. North Wales police won't entertain HMR as suitable for fox. It's bizarre the apparent variations from one constabulary to another.
  11. Thanks Jax, appreciate your input. I might leave the bolt handle for a while and see how it goes then. I've ordered a pair of those ones you've linked from eBay already as a stop gap, they just look a bit flimsy in the pic. Glad you agree with the rail selection form Kinneys, I've ordered one, should be here in 7 to 10 days. It really looks the part (judging by the pics) and should give a really secure mounting. I'll get some pics up of the set-up once it's all bolted together. Thanks again Jax.
  12. Hi all, I was wondering if the fantastic collective knowledge base on the forum could just double check something for me before I make a monumental cock-up. I'm taking delivery of a Anschutz 1517 HMR left hand thumb-hole next week and want to make a couple of minor additions to it. I'll be topping it off with a new Drone Pro x15 so the first thing I want to do is fit a suitable rail to the action. Now I think I'm right in saying the 1517 has a 64 action so I'm looking at ordering a dedicated 0MOA rail from Kinneys in the States. I was wondering could the the collective have a look at t
  13. Yes, it's back with a vengeance in some parts here in North Wales.
  14. No good for getting guns and a couple of springers in though
  15. Thanks for the replies chaps. Jacknife - 5 gun cabinet it is then. Thank you. Glad to hear scopes etc don't have to be mentioned. Yes I was looking at a possible IR scope too Ian, I just wasn't convinced on how they stand up, mainly because (admittedly not very scientific) I see quite a lot being sold second hand, which always gives me the impression they don't fulfill expectations. I've been using the XD38 for a while now (bought it from you) and I've been more than happy with it, really fantastic piece of kit, so was hoping for a similar performance from the Apex. With the smaller Apex s
  16. Hi all, so I've finally convinced myself that I should apply for my FAC. I've been a holder of a SGC for about a year now and after recently purchasing a Pulsar XD38s I've come to the conclusion I'm not really getting the best out of it. Currently I'm using the XD for spotting at night, and one of the shotguns I own is an old Baikal hushpower 20 bore, to which I've attached a 20mm rail at the front which has a T67 red torch on it which is activated by a rats tail when I shoulder the gun. I'll be honest, it's a bit of a faff spotting with the thermal then swapping over to the gun and trying
  17. Another vote for Meindl. I bought a pair of Meindl Engadin early autumn and they've stood up to everything I've thrown at them. I'm a bit anal with boot care though, I like to rinse them and wax them after every trip out. Only takes a couple of minutes but the leather's never whetted and the water just beads off them. They've got a liner that expands slightly from the warmth of your foot to give a nice snug fit. Best boots I've had.
  18. Agree with the point about obtaining an EA licence. This is a tremendously destructive invasive non-native species which decimates the waterways it's colonised (the poster who suggests "there every where else" [sic] is grossly mistaken). The EA licence will give specific guidelines that must be adhered to less this wretched curse be spread to other, currently signal-free waterways. You get caught without a licence or acting outside of the licence stipulations and you deserve everything you get IMO. One of the cornerstones of living off the land is ensuring its viability and sustainability;
  19. I've gone through quite a number of Gore-Tex gaiters, they can tear quite easily is thick brush. Best buy I've made as far as gaiters are concerned are a pair of olive Fjallraven Sarek gaiters (they're available in black too). They do need waxing occasionally (Greenland Wax), but they're tremendously hard-wearing and waterproof providing you look after them and wax them occasionally. It's quite therapeutic! I've found, with gaiters, you buy cheap and you'll be buying again soon after. http://www.fjallraven.co.uk/sarek-gaiters
  20. Hi all, quick question about the Mossy 500, does anyone here own one and could they tell me is it tapped and screwed ready for a rail? Thanks.
  21. Certainly illegal now. "A non certificate holder may use a shotgun in the following circumstances: He may borrow a shotgun from the occupier of private land and use it on that land in the occupier’s presence. For a borrower under 18 years old, the occupier must be over 18 years old. Whilst at a shooting ground approved by the police for shooting at artificial targets only. Note that “occupier” is not defined by the Firearms Act 1968 but may be taken to include the owner, tenant or licence holder. There is no minimum age at which a person may borrow a shotgun and use it under the
  22. Forgot to add; normally with a gun of this price range you'd expect perhaps the woodwork to not be up to the quality of more expensive guns, but on the contrary it was the first thing that caught my eye on this particular one. Sorry the picture's not the best.
  23. Ahh , good , some one who has one ... What are you using it for mate , game and pigeons ? How fast handling is it compared to other guns you have used . thanks.. Hi Rowan, I'm using it for rough shooting and some pest control. It handles really well, it's well balanced and comes to the shoulder nicely. Only other gun I use is a hushpower 20 bore, and compared to that it's a dream to use, but a branch would be a dream to use compared to that. It's the first gun I bought when I reapplied for my licence, I'd taken a break from shooting for a few years because of family commit
