  1. Always wondered how collies instinct is to chase...but when working is constantly told "stop/start", I would imagine this would be frustrating for the dog? Yet the collie bred lurched get accused for picking runs and "jacking" when the tough gets going...iv not seen it myself. Il probably get linched for asking the question no doubt, but In my opinion it's a good one haha. I like collie xs n own one myself. What's people's thoughts...
  2. Fair play bob84 mate. looks like you have it bang on there. My fiancé is a Vet and animal behaviorist - this is basically the positive method of getting your pup outside. By giving rewarding the behavior that you want (the dog being quiet) and ignoring the bad behavior is a good way to get the best out of your pup!when I first got her, I sat in the kennel (still do) to play etc , and all day I let the kennel door open for her to come to and from, occasionally shutting door (feeding time) let her cry n go to sleep for say 1hour? And before she has chance to wake up n panic I wake her and let he
  3. Don't know why but had to upload separately as page kept refreshing?
  4. When I get back in, il sort some new pics of her out n about, and some retrieve pics.
  5. Cheers lads, she's a pleasure to own, except the noise in the kennel. If it wasn't for the neighbours I wouldn't give a shit lol She's shooting up , nice n strong... Taking everything I her stride
  6. im in South yorkshire matefair enough, don't know what it's like yo there. Iv sort of "sussed" areas that are happy with hunting and some areas that are not worth the aggro
  7. I haven't thrown stuff at it, punched it or soaked it in water. Iv done everything opposite Infact. I have four kids under the roof, two toddlers and one disabled, there's nurses back n fore at all different times, people picking cakes up , and my partner is flat out all day. So don't go telling me I'm an idiot, I'm trying to give the pup a quiet life not a hectic manic one. Most the comments made are piss taking no doubt. On upside pup has been quiet again as usual. I'm not a wanker, just not experienced with such a noisy little shitbag lol Atb
  8. Cheers no complaints so far well happy with her.Ye it was the litter was advertised in the countrymans weekly guessing its the one you mean?the bloke was sound his dogs were well kept as well fair play. What cross pup did you get in the end mate?ye that's it, that bitch is a cracker. And I originally wanted a collie whippet grey but couldn't find anything, and I ended up with a collie whippet grey x saluki whippet grey. Never had saluki before so thought why not, and she's not a bad pup, abit vocal, very very fiery , brilliant recall n retrieve but she's only 11 weeks old, get her round some cat
  9. Aye Ruby is in tremendous order mate, she's very VERY fit just now, she's not a terrier or spaniel but she's like a mix of the two when working, she's a handy wee mutt for mooching about and hunting up..Boots is in good order too, just bringing him to the boil for what lays ahead..he's where I want him to be just now ? class photo right there
  10. You can be a copper, but also be involved in criminal activity, doesn't mean all are. What a prick
  11. Seen a decent dog catch n kill the sharp end and in the next field retrieve a rabbit live, don't think it matters to be honest. My dog here used to shake hell into everything as a pup, but every rabbit he's caught all been alive
  12. Yes mines fine outdoors and fast learner, goes through cover, over /under obstacles. Recall is spot on, and retrieves spot on too. Just tests my patience when she decided to screach in the kennel lol the more I look at it I question myself whether it's such a big deal ? Maybe I'm looking too much into it. Atb with pup it's a cracker, what do expect it'll make height wise? I want my bitch no bigger than 25 ideally
  13. How's the pup bred it has same look as my little shit bag. How do u find it temperament wise, are all saluki types testing and noisy lol apart from that I'm enjoying having her.
  14. My house is chaos it just wouldn't work lads. Ye I never let it out unless it's been quiet mate. It's been quiet for 2 hours or more so just fed it now and she looking sorry for herself lol
  15. I had shit luck for three seasons mate before I got anywhere then this summer I struck lucky and got myself 3 lamping permissions and 2-3 others for ferreting. It's luck of the draw mate and persistence.
  16. haha, that's my attitude. If I bring it in it'll just get worse IMO. Iv tried the old jumper thing as well. Iv put it in will adult for a few hours. It's been good as gold for about two weeks I thought "spot on" then today Iv pulled my hair out again. One thing I can't stand is whiney dog lol
  17. I spend a lot of time with it to be honest, I'm out teaching it the basics and gets fed 5 times a day. Only thing j can think is to put it in with my dog, he's pretty chilled, just hope he don't snap at her.
  18. Why am I an idiot? It was a serious answer, my misses makes cakes a living, so I can't have it in. It's in the kennel for a reason , it's 12 weeks old nearly, Iv ignores it , used water, give a stern NO , put a vibrating collar on it. Literally can't think of anything else, it's just been on a decent walk mate, fed it and it's been going 20 minutes lol I thought I had it sussed few week back, but it's returned to usually behaviour
