Out of the pen,into the box

Out today hopefully his first fox

The breedings right, the works been done

From the old bitch, her only son

 

A known sett, its not that deep

A handy dig to earn his keep

The collars on away ye go

Into the earth to meet his foe

 

A bark is heard hes in one spot

The battles on, this cant be taught

Hes working well, nice and steady

Time to get the shovels ready

 

0.8 it says on the box

The clay is soft and soon wer through

Him and his foe come into view

 

Hes done his job, and done it well

Will he keep it up? Only time will tell

We'll take him home, n treat him good

A nice warm bed n some good food

 

In a few years time when hes proved hes good.

Upon this earth we will be stood

His son or daughter we'll have to ground

And then we hear that glorious sound

 

We'll think of the old dog, the digs we had

Hes now retired, it makes us sad

But the youngsters there,and doing well

Will he make the grade? Only time will tell

If it was just the dogs we had to deal with...instead of men's lies and bullshit. We can't be sure what way their bred coz they'll write it down whatever way they want it read. They will take 500 and swear it's undefeated but when you dig it once you'll know you've been cheated. By writing poems you won't find out... why it took 6 holes to dig him out. Poetic licence allows for liars so just work your dog until he retires. Don't get involved with the lies and the sh1te and you might sleep better every night.???
