theres plenty of goldfinches here too they are preferring the sunflower hearts. they seem to be getting more common? i hardly used to see them now we often get 20 in the same tree fighting over the feeder.

I've started using no waste wild bird seed, it's got niger in the mix, and canary seed, and it's coated with aniseed oil, got allsorts of birds coming in for it including the goldfinch, been growing teasel in my neighbours derelict garden aswell, and i'm going to turn it into a wildflower meadow when the days get a bit more sunlight

Get a bird bath too, or a small pond. Birds have to drink and bathe every day to keep their feathers tip top.

Funnily enough, we get pied wagtails out the front of the house on the road, they are there every day in winter. Yet never seen them in the garden at the back of the house.

Good photos. There's a big pied wagtail roost near my office. It's in the middle of a city, must be 100 plus come into 3 small trees on an evening. It's funny to watch the world rushing by, going to catch the train or bus and most of them are oblivious to them...
