  1. Hi Ian, Just wanted to add my compliments on the forum rather than just a pm - the stick you made for my Father is superb. Anyone contemplating a decent stick should be asking you first. Good luck for the future. All the best Mark
  2. Shooting both early and late season in North Yorkshire and saw many - several really quite large. Took a brace - despite the weather they too were in excellent state. Largest birds were up on the moor edge.
  3. Saw this on www.dogsblog.com seems strange? Buddy – 4 year old male English Springer Spaniel Buddy is an English Springer spaniel who is aged about 4 years old. This handsome boy was found wandering as a stray, he was micro chipped but there was no record of the owners at the address given. He is a friendly lively dog who is always happy. Buddy needs an energetic family to further his training and to love and care for him. Buddy is in kennels so needs a home as soon as possible. If you can help please ring the rescue directly. Please note we usually rehome within 60 miles r
  4. The Harris Hawk is the only member of the genus Parabuteo. The name is derived from the Greek para, meaning beside, near or like, and the Latin buteo, referring to a kind of buzzard. It is a reference to the shape of the Harris Hawk. Good luck with the dog!

  5. Well done indeed - always a joy to visit the site and read of work like that - makes life worth living!
  6. Shurely not crazy just a good businessman with a nose for the right investment. Perhaps he could set up a training school for peddlars - I would gladly pay thousands for such sage advice.
  7. I know this is a hunting site - but with whippet and bull and saluki in the breeding what is he aiming at - rabbits - fox - hare - all of the above. Good luck to the lad - he has made an understandable explanation. What are the dam's and sire's height and hunting weight? Please give more info on pups background and breeding - it helps a man to decide whether its worth the trip to see them.
  8. As a fairly new member I am not really up to speed with how a peddler gets taken off the site but this guy has a lot of explaining to do. If there is an innocent explanation lets have it and the assurance that the good advice offered is being taken. That said if all can be properly addressed I would like to learn more about parentage and what these little fellows were bred to achieve.
  9. a thing i cant get my head round is why people sell dogs because of "lack of time"....and then they say will swap for more experienced dog, terrier etc!! if you havent got time for that dog why get another!!! Hear hear!
  10. I would also like to hear from anyone working Welsh Terriers - have they all gone to the beauty parlour or are there still strains worth having?
  11. Is this pup from the same litter that you were advertising in June?
  12. It would be the thing to do to ensure this. Just thinking of the dogs welfare. Hear, hear - get her spayed then advertise her.
  13. How old is your pup now and where can he and (if possible) parents be seen?
  14. If your pup is still available please pm me as I may be interested.
  15. A serious response - yes there is more than enough work for all. The problem is organizing that work - or publicizing it. If we as members made it easier to co-operate then we could all be working our dogs a lot more. That said a few less pups and inappropriate crosses would do no harm. As members we should all commit to breed only from the very best - if a dog isn't the best then neuter it.
