  1. I have area's on my permission which are quarry walls which are now grassed over which I run quicksets around. In MY experience most rabbits will run downhill....max speed for very little effort. If there's a few of you position yourselves so you can send them downhill if possible. I run 150% bagging in my quicksets & netted rabbits no problems uphill & at one permission I was a guest on as I was running out quicksets I seen rabbits walk into the the already set quickset further along the bank.If you've enough bagging (running kill) you'll ball them up 99.9% of the time regardless of wh
  2. Lost my old vasectomised hob Jasper this April aged 8.When he was snipped in his first season he had to have a bollock removed due to infection. He was fine until last summer when his bollock swelled up.He was ok for the last year of his life never showed any signs of real pain but had to get him PTS when he started fitting one night in April. Only got his sister left now& she's doing fine, blind as a bat tho....
  3. Bought my poke nets from Bridport Nets.5ft(6z) never lost a rabbit in one, rolls them up real tight. Also bought sheet netting from them for quicksets & had a very good, fast service from them.
  4. The .204 has that much freebore that you'll be very unlikely to jam into the lands anyway.I've always loaded to SAMMI spec 2.250"(39gr & 40gr) & fiddled around with COL but as you said no difference to be had really. However for the 35g over N140 I dropped to 2.230 COL & got very good groupings however the speed was not there which is needed IMO for the lighter heads. After trawling through the reloading sections of nearly every website the best info I found was a American fella who posted that all he did was go to the first compressed powder load, with the fastest speed in the d
  5. When I had my factory 1 in 12 twist barrel on mine I tried with the RL10X to get the 39's going...great velocity however never quite made the grade group wise & I tried every possible COL up to 2.330 & I was never really happy .Then I jumped onto the 35g Bergers with H322 & then the gun started to shoot . Be aware that the Alliant RL10X is temperature sensitive & a very, very dirty powder.CFE never used it but it's got good feedback from the states. My choice for the 40gr Vmax is H4895,very steady powder & clean. BLC-2 is great for velocity but as my shooting partner f
  6. Geoff managed to find 1 load...N130 MAX 23.3grs, Fill 96%, Burn 100%, 3564 FPS,COL 2.220 .This is off the firing line.com done with Quickload.(Remember to start @ 10% less) Only Viht I use is N140.It's better for the 50gr heads in my gun 1 in 10 twist running sweetly @ 3400fps with very little ES.I got a very accurate 35gr load with it but only running @ 3500fps I'll be putting 40gr Vmax over it this summer to see what develops IMO the Viht needs to be compressed for the best results & most accurate .204 hand loads are at the top end of the data. Enjoy running in the .204 it's a gr
  7. Wish I still had my lab cross that I had as a teenager.100% marking dog, good all rounder fur & feather & graft all day. When I think back to how good he was i'd love to have him now, being older & a bit wiser
  8. Give Dave a ring 0191 4920077 sure he'll let you know. He's normally very busy so you may have a little wait but it's worth the wait.
  9. You'll be spoilt for choice if you buy 2nd hand. There's normally a fair few for sale once they've been owned for a couple of month I had the CZ American great gun but as said a thousand times over it's the wind drift, bad ammo batches & IMO just a bit underwhelming once you get it out in real shooting conditions ie a wind over 3mph or a gnat farts next to it
  10. I have 2 jills available to GOOD HOMES ONLY.They are 10 weeks old,1 sandy & 1 dark silver.I will bring them to anyone interested so I can see how they'll be looked after.NO WISEGUYS,TOUGHGUYS,ETC need apply just decent folk with good ferret welfare in mind like myself. PM's only with a contact number,Thanks Andy.
  11. Kent Wool Growers may be worth a try Dan.The lad who owns it shoots a .20cal or so I've read on other forums.I personally wouldn't buy Hornady brass as it's got a lot of bad press here & the USA hence that's why there's lots available.I use Remington & Winchester brass & I prefer the Winchester as it seems to be more consistent in neck thickness after a few firings. Drop me a pm if you want to talk .204,cheers Andy
  12. Try Hannams Reloading in Leeds. My local RFD sourced all my .20 cal reloading gear from there. The Forster trimmer is what I use & using the drill adaptor on the cutting shaft, you can fly through the case trimming
  13. You've been very lucky there Ian glad I binned my HMR over 4yr ago.I wonder if all the dodgy ammo has been shipped across to us Brits
  14. Give Dave Folwell a ring @ Bowtec,Westline ind est,Birtley 0191 4920077.He should be able to sort you out but he can be very busy so you may have to wait a week or so.
