Best digging shovel??

Get a round mouth bulldog,if you know someone who welds get a metal shaft welded on,last you for years,always keep a spare in the motor aswell,i also got a small bulldog with afibre glass handle,got to say ive had no problems with it and it fits into my old tent bag lovely.

the best general tool i had was a bulldog no2 with a shortened shaft and rounded off blade[still got it] but you need a good selection for different ground,

a small grafter [rounded blade] can be worth its weight if its genrally firmer going,but they arent as good in light sandy soil.

Probably the best compramise was my all steel bulldog rounded shovel with a solid bar welded inside the shaft[after we broke it] the solid bar gave it a bit of weight and strength,i wore it that thin the blade split eventually.

Differebt people require (or prefer) different lengths.

 

When I was on the fencing we'd always take our grafter heads to get a new shaft welded to it to suit what we wanted.
