patdahat 41
maybe the same as crossing a lion with a greyhound i dont think so. the only 1 to tame a mink or stoat is bodygrip or finn. Quote Link to post

comanche 3,301
Stoats X mink is called a stink We get quite few of these crosses running round the base of Arundel and various other old castles in Sussex . The technical term for them is ,I believe ,a "moat". I am soooooo sorry ! Edited April 9, 2009 by comanche Quote Link to post
Quixote 9
The wild polecat/ferret hybrid's quite common, but they're an absolute bitch to handle & tend to kill underground a lot more than purebred ferrets. I believe they're used a lot in Eastern Europe insead of purebreds. I'm assuming you guys already know that the fert commonly called a 'polecat' is actually a purebred fert that just retains the polecat markings though genetic selection? (sorry if that's teaching some of you to suck eggs) I've never heard of a ferret/stoat or mink hybrid personally, but as they're all mustelids they share some common genes so a hybrid shouldn't be completely out of the question. I imagine the disparate habitats & behaviours would preclude interbreeding being very common though (and the 'moat' reference is just unforgiveable ) Edited April 9, 2009 by Quixote Quote Link to post
Quixote 9
Incidentally, the correct name for a ferret with polecat markings is a 'fitch' Quote Link to post

Kay 3,709
Incidentally, the correct name for a ferret with polecat markings is a 'fitch' I thought the term ''fitch'' was just the name for the pelt regardless of the colour , you learn summat every day Quote Link to post
