Hi,

I only have use of a motorbike for the moment, a 125 very similar to the XR125's funnily enough. I'd bear in mind, it doesn't matter how safe you are, it's sometimes others. I've come off on more than one occasion due to my lack of judgement when I was younger and on bikes a bit quicker than this one, but year before last I was hit front on by someone not paying attention when coming down a narrow road. Just food for thought mind.

Answer with insurance is to shop around - I had a 125LC at 17, and the insurance on that was about £450TPFT. Not really worth going fully comp in my opinion, and not worth buying a brand spanker for your first proper bike, again in my opinion.

Hope this helps.

Off topic i know but, have you had an insurance quote yet? my mate was wanting a 125cc for running around on and the cheapest was £4k.

i personlly would use a car bit more room for all your kit and can take the gun as well.

well im 17 when i start and with no noclaims and only a CBT my bike is £362.70 to insure 3rd party fire and theft with 100£ volantary excess. thisc fuguire goes up for less excess etc
