Bedlington terrier info

Recommended Posts

When i got my Beddie/whippet someone told me that Bedlingtons were known as the silent terrier obviously meaning they are not as yappy as the typical terrier, however, looking on sites about the Beddie it said they are known to bark alot and need to be corrected otherwise it becomes a habit...........................i'm confused  which is true?

Bedlingtons were know as the "silent" terrier, because when they went to ground, they usualy went straight in and mixed it with the quarry, rather than stand off and bay !

Cheers.

I had a Bedlington dog off a fella from Dundee and You just described him to a tee see quarry whatever it was and he would go straight in and kill it,called him Rab after Rab C Nesbitt a right f"""""g nutter fantastic dog though.

I know own a bitch pup 6 months or thereabouts had her first rat the other day got bit then went back in started barking at it then killed it.

Interesting reading guys, thank you.

Mine is silent when we are out but does bark when he is excited while playing or if he is trying to get my cats to play (or should i say....trying to get my cats to run so he can chase them LOL)
