spiderpig 39
Lansky. Comes with instructions and some kits have a free knife for you to practice on. whats wong with a good old fashioned oil stone then finish ith a steel? i have a diamond sharpener thing and cant do the job i an with a stone.there is something good about earning the proper way to sharpen a knife not just kits and machines which take all the skill out of it
ChrisJones 7,975
Nothing wrong with it. If you want to learn it the old fashioned way, go for it. Personally I haven't got the time or the inclination. Lansky's never let me down, holds a great edge, and I'm cutting things instead or cursing at it. Each to their own I guess. mattydski 560
Bladetech isnt bad for the lazy ones amongst us..I use it on my cheap, field knives.. It does eat the knife though. Mine cost a tenner.. Sometimes in between sharpen's, i use a steel. I haven't seen one for a while, but the best sharpener i have seen is a ceramic steel.. That was awesome. droid 11
When I was a kid used to get gypsies round that'd sharpen your knives, scissors etc. Did a good job as I recall. They'd sell you hand carved pegs for your washing line too. Wish I'd rescued a few of them when I cleared my Mums' house a few years back....
