Big enough!

Well today was the "opening" of my changes to my ferret court. Was supposed to start in January but didn't start till July and have had little time since to get seriously stuck in but the last bit was finished yesterday after weeks of snatching an hour or to at it here and there.

It's 26 foot long, 8 foot high and 4 foot 6 wide. Now completely roofed over, drains installed, lighting and secure mesh for keeping ferts in and intruders out. 3 coats of stain, 3 boxes of screws, 800 staples, miles of timber and several hours on Tinternet sourcing roofing materials etc etc etc.

Missus doesn't know how much its cost but ferrets seem to like it!

Nice one D............you have made a real nice job of that mate........like has been said........a few climbing logs, pipes and tunnels and it will be like the Ritz for the lucky ferrets.......

Nice job that , plenty of space for them. is it attached to your house, ? as you may get your mrs moaning about the flys comming in or the smell, especialy if its next to the kitchen. cracking job though TOMO

Tidy job! You could make yourself a few quid renting that space out to illegals, you could get around 20 in there...

 

It nice to see so many people using courts these days, when I was a kid, ferrets were something that lived at the bottom of the garden in cramped hutches, fed bread, milk & cat food if they were lucky, and were only usually taken out at the weekend for ferreting.

No wonder they got a bad reputation for being vicious hand biters!

Brilliant job mate, they'll love that, how many are you putting in there? When the mrs finds out the cost of timber, mesh and roofing sheets you can always move in with them.

Thanks for the replies guys. 2 in there at the moment with 2 more due to move in soon.

Started on the play stuff already! They're happy playing with watering cans, empty bins and each other at the moment but they'll be getting more stuff soon. Hope they can still bolt rabbits!
