well what ye think?i think shes a nice make and very easy to get her to listen once shes had a good trot about. All I can say is MIKE you bred a decent litter of pups, thanks again.I travelled over to Wales to collect the bitch,Left at 4.30 a.m. and reached Rosslare at 7 a.m.Boarded the ferry at 7.30 and arrived in Fishguard at 12 a.m then i drove to Mikes and arrived at 3 p.m.He being the gentelman he is,made me more than wellcome, his lovely wife served me dinner and his children happily entertained my son, we talked dogs, dogs dogs the whole afternoon,my son in the above pictures came with me for the trip.Well we left at 7 p.m and the pup safetly tucked away in the crate. Now from here I became a little unstuck,my plans of a smooth trip started to go a little pear shaped,at 9 p.m. my car broke down, the thermostat ceased to function,I havent a clue about cars and i was well up a motorway 83 miles from the boat. The next service station was 5 miles ahead. To say i began to panic is an understatement.I was well and truly goosed.

There was steam and a strange bubbling noise coming from the engine.I told Kevin we were truly F***ED,I let the car cool and after a few minutes I attempted to drive a little further,I came to a bend not 200 yards away and i pulled into a layby, the car was now steaming well.I got out and lifted the bonnet,i might as well have been looking up a cows arse.I turned to walk away with this sicly feeling in my gut but who do i spot below in a van HAVING HIS LUNCH :notworthy: the local AA man.I approached him and with a little begging pleading and almost crying he offered to look and tell me exactly what the problem was.I had £200 in my pocket and offered it to him if hed fix the car so i could reach home.He explained to me he couldnt touch my car as I wasnt a member. He then proceeded to take a look and see if he could work out the problem. From here on he took the thermostat out and jammed it open replaced it and told me I was ok to get home now.I offered the cash to him but believe it or not he wouldnt take a penny from me.He told me I'd need the money if it broke down as i'd need a tow truck to get me to the boat.He also told me not to ever tell the AA or he'd be sacked.

I took his name and adress and I will send him something fitting as soon as i can.I couldnt believe I met such a decent bloke, after that I met MALTENBY and collected some ferret kits from him.I was running so late I hadnt time to have a decent chat with him,but I drove like a man possessed and got to the terminal at 2.30 a.m.Well the car got me home and someone in heaven sent that AA chap to me.I realise just how lucky I was.The dog, ferry and car repairs have set me back 1,100 euros so I reckon its the most expensive pup ever bought for hunting. But I reckon with a little effort she will be worth all the trouble I had,but the wife is not convinced so easily.Hope you enjoyed this tale, all true as can be backed up by the memmbers on this site I mentioned above.I forgot to add I had no phone credit left the time I broke down in the car so if I had not met the AA chap I was stuck on a motorway 5 miles from the nearest station, with no way of contacting anyone. The things you do for hunting,EH! :icon_redface:OH YEAH 20 HRS ON THE GO,I GOT 3 HRS SLEEP IN ALL THIS TIME :icon_eek:

Hang & Bang, when I bought my first kelpie about nine years ago it was with the intention of getting a lurcher pup out of him but I liked him so much that I've stuck with the pure bred instead and now have three. However, my youngest is coming along really well and is very whippety and I must admit I'm a tad tempted to put her to a good working whippet. But, and it's a big but, I've never bred before as I always find that you can find whatever you want if you wait a while. Also, I've no need for another dog for a while now and by the time I need another one Scout will probably be too old to breed from so I'll probably be getting her spayed. Swings and roundabouts. :hmm:
