a stroll down memory lane!!!!

Recommended Posts

Ginger ,the milkman's horse . He was there from the time I was old enough to notice things . .As a toddler I was allowed to feed him the burnt toast.Even then Mum was making a name for herself with culinary pyrotechnics and Dad reckoned Ginger was the fattest horse in Sussex because of it! Sadly one morning he collapsed of bloat and had to be cut out of the shafts. But this was before he reached our house so Mum was'nt to blame..The milkman had to then pass his driving test so he could do the round. Those Swappets were great too.Little cowboys ,Indians and knights with tiny intechangable weapons and little rubber saddles .Hours of fun. Then on to the teens ..The smell of a hot ,oily BSA after a run to the coast in the summer of 76 ! Now where did I put those glasses with the pink lenses?

i think me & your mom must have had the same cookery teacher

And do you know something Kay ? To this day nothing I cook for myself tastes quite right unless it is well-done,falling off the bone or covered in a patina of charcoal.Except toast.Maybe that's because all  the burnt toast went to the horse .I never had a chance to get a taste for it!

Us kids having a lot more freedom than they get today,

sad isnt it

i spent most of my childhood walking the local mountains with my dogs,

building dams with all my mates in the mountain streams and them goin in in our Y-fronts :D

i still spend alot of time on the mountains but hardly see anyone else there now

all playstations, computers, drink and drugs now

we used to have a local rag and bone man in our village who had a hand cart, he was the village tabbaconist too lol

my dad used to give me money to get him fags when i was 8 years old, he sold sweets as well so i usually had a quarter of sherbet and a boiled sweet lolly,

proper teeth rotting sherbet not that rubbish you buy today lol
