Just had the rspca round someone has anonymously reported me for keeping my dogs in a cage .they are in fact kept in two pens a jrt & lurcher in one 4x4FT with a 8x6 run & 2lurchers in the other 4x4 with a 8x8 run they are only in it through the day while i'm at work.i refused her access unless she told me who had reported me & she said it was anonymous so she said she would be back with the police does any one know where i stand do the police need a warrant to enter any advice would help there is nowt rong with the dogs i just hate the fact any lieing twat can ring up & accusing me of god knows what & i can do f**k all about it anyway if anyone has any advise it would be gratefully appreciated ATB pritch

all i no is that they need a warrant cause i no someone who had there dog lifted by the council and the police and they needed a warrant before they were allowed through the house but they had to go to the courts to get it so it'll probably be atleast tomorrow before you get another visit because the courts are probably closed now! i live in N.ireland so it might be slightly different were you live

Best thing to do if you aint got anything to hide is let them in to see the dogs. I've been reported 2 times this year once for my dogs being to thin and skinny and being bundled into the back of my truck. The last time was when I was on holiday and we had left a friend to watch our two cats. The dogs were at my mates thank god. This ANONYMOUS call was from some vindictive b*****d in my street who doesnt have the decency to discuss what their problem is. Anyway first time he came out he took one look at my dogs and asked if I had fallen out with any of my neighbours as he could see they were in prime condition. The second time really got my back up cause we came home to find our front door taped up and two cards through the door saying we had abandoned our cats. This despite our friend contacting them to put them in the picture and explain she was looking after them, usual shit the guy who put the card through wasnt in but they would pass message on to him, never happend result was he came out again taped up the door and put a note saying if we didn't contact their office the police would be contacted and they would force entry. So of I go to their local office to read the riot act to them and inform them I was taking legal action for damage to our door. Not even a f****n appology for the distress caused.

police can enter with warrant rspca cannot they are a charity with no powers the police can request that you let the rspca man accompany them which they normaly do it is your call wheather you let them in are not but as someone said earlier if you have nothing to hide why worry let them in once they see the dogs they will leave you alone also make a point of telling them they have no powers and on this one occassion you will let them in but not to bother you in the future without good reason

They wouldn't tell me either mate just said it was anonymous...I have an idea who it was but no proof but its got me looking over my shoulder everytime I go out with the dogs and when I come back. Unfortunately this is the world we live in now.

i got reported last year about my ferrets ,i asked who has reported me of course they said they could not disclose the name ,its obvious really because i would have gone straight round and flattened them,i let him in he had a look around and he was quite impressed how i have my ferrets set out i even made him a cup of tea and we chatted, and he said as he was leaving if any more reports about me they would be ignored ,i dont have a problem with them checking up on abuse cases or neglect , i hope i can speak for everyone on here but mis treatment of animals is not exceptable

cruelty should not be tolerated by anyone but if it is anonymous it is hearsay & has no place in law she said it was reported that i keep my dogs in a cage, is it unlawful to keep dogs in a cage ? not as far as i know so why bother me if my dog is found on the streets they will put it in cage for a week & then put it down. goin to walk the dogs now thanks for the replies

I had them come to mine a few weeks ago , i was just back off a walk with the skinny dog but they didnt come in the house , i wouldnt have let them in anyway

 

Thinking about it i am here every afternoon on my own so theres no way i would let a bloke in here saying he was from the rspca when i was on my own

this was a young lady a looker to,if she had'nt been from the rspca i'der dragged her in lol . Dont know if i have made a rod for my own back but they do

my brother had the same problem the runs and kennels were a large size plenty of water and spotless and all the twats at the rspca could come up with was they wanted the runs to be completly covered(roof)

Im always getting visits from the RSPCA, there are some very jealous people out there who like to waste peoples time. My Vet has suggested to me when they call to be very polite to them and suggest they come back when one of the vets from out practise is present. I would like to say my kennels and stables are modern and upto standard.

Our vets find it very annoying as professionals that they train for upto 5 to ten years as vets and the RSPCA inspectors get 6 weeks training and then think they know it all, and peoples livelyhoods can be wrecked by these people.

has put this page together because you need to be prepared before the RSPCA come knocking on your door.

 

Many people have thought

"It will never happen to me because........." and then it happened..

...the RSPCA called

and they lost their good name and animals forever!!

An RSPCA Inspector arrives:

 

Have they any rights to be on your property?……………………….…. NO!!

Do they have any special legal powers?………………………………….NO!!

Can they demand entry to your dwelling to look at your animals?……..NO!!

Can they demand that you answer questions?…………………………. NO!!

What should you do?? Be polite, and refuse them entry. Tell them to leave. Do not be bullied into complying by threats of returning with the Police. If they refuse you are entitled to use reasonable force to eject them, as you would any other common trespasser. Do not volunteer any information.

 

Refuse to answer any questions asked by the RSPCA Do not even give your name. They may caution you and tell you that you are not under arrest, using the standard police wording. They may do their best to ignore you and talk over you, trying to goad you into giving answers to their allegations. The uniform, the caution, and the general demeanour are meant to intimidate you. You may feel that you have nothing to hide but do not let yourself be lulled into a false sense of security. DO NOT LET THEM IN

 

THE RSPCA DO NOT

HAVE ANY SPECIAL POWERS WHATSOEVER.

 

What to do when they have left. Your battle has only just started.. Get photographs of all your stock, land and premises. Get your vet out to look at all of your animals and get him to write a report. Act immediately on any recommendations he has. The written report is essential.
