lgray88 4
i meant shavings more so , couldnt think of the right word haha , the shavings i do use still end up being dusty obviously you cant get rid of all the dust can this cause any problems to the respirtory system of ferrets? I think you will get a little bit off dust even in the pet shop dust extracted ones, been using it here for 14 yrs no problems Quote Link to post

I would stick to white softwood shavings or sawdust mate..or mix them both..the redwood and hardwood sawdust and shavings does have too much very fine dust among it..and I have heard of respiratory problems being caused (suspected cause) by it..I would rather not take the chance.. Corky(amateur) 0
Ave just pimped my ferrets court. was a big enclosure/cage with sooil bottom but made for a pain in the ass to clean, so i swapped. dug down 3 foot, filled it in with pea gravel. now i just hose it all down twice a day. doesn't smell, easy to clean, no irritation. but if they're in a hutch type set up obviosly this is no good.
