Guest bigredbusa
sort of stopped now unless called on or ferrets get hard up for grub Quote Link to post
stubby 175
will be ferreting about once a month, on a permission I have for a parish, purely pest control, but of course, its all food for the ferts, as bigredbusa say's, they still need feeding, if not more, this time of year, need to keep the freezer full Quote Link to post
terrierguy 1
Stored the nets away until next season, I am a strictly autumn/winter ferreter. I do it for the sport so see no point in ferreting the young uns and destroying the stock for next year, I will however run the dogs every now and then over the summer to pick up the odd rabbit now and then for the ferrets. wabbithunter_15 0
going out this sunday for the first time in a while. im going to a new piece of land my girls dad knows and it is where he used to ferret when he had ferrets maybe i can convince him to get some more. but i dont mind taking a few rabbits from there as i wont go their again for a few months until he invies me out again. and apperently the place is teaming with them, lets hope Quote Link to post

Keeps 403
Would prefer to have a break from it, but the keeper has asked us to continue again, places we ferreted and just about cleared earlier in the year have quite a few bunnies on them again. These are next to the game crops so we will have to continue for a while longer. I'm on holiday next week and we're planning a couple of trips out, got some nice open bits to do, so the dogs will get a run with a bit of luck. Last year we continued 'till about July. It does keep the ferrets fed and the freezer full, but given a choice, I would prefer to leave the young uns for next years sport; unfortunately there is no choice if we want to carry on with the excellent permission we have. Corky(amateur) 0
I stopped way back in feb because i got 7 rabbits on the last outing and 5 of those were prega's. anyone know of any full time ferreting jobs around swadlincote area as my ferrets are already really bored. almost as much as me. and i've been pondering on the once a month idea(ferreting) because i've run out of ferret food and am now onto dry food again. Meerihunter 7
I'll keep going as long as the cover allows it. Yet to come across any milky does or young'uns yet I've seen wee hamtser sized ones on the roadsides near my ground. Quote Link to post
