Anyone else think it's been a bit of a shambles this year?

Some fantastic snooker but the tables haven't been consistent with players unhappy about them on several occasions.

The crowd during the Allen/Yize match were very untypical of Crucible goers, doing a slow handclap FFS, the ref let the game/audience get out of control.

We had someone thrown out for screaming about the Epstein Files, another one for running on an shouting about television licences and after multiple announcements and warnings, we had phones going off in the audience almost every session, culminating with one audience member being told to leave when their phone went off just as Shaun Murphy was about to play a shot.

Final day, SM has a lot to do against this Chinese wonder kid who can pot balls from anywhere and very seldom misses.

Always had a love for the snooker, in fact my old man used watching it together to teach me to add up when I was a kid ! lol 

It went a bit bland for a while, every f****r was a Steve Davis when the game needed an Alex Higgins…..but Ronnie brought the game back to life imho.

But it’s been funny to watch the game change over the years, from Ray Reardon, Alex Higgins, Bill Werbenuik sinking pints, Kirk Steven’s and his pool playing style, Jimmy white and a room full of fag smoke and vodka & tonics to Steven Hendry and the start of what I call the clean cut brigade and bottled water instead of 20 gallon of booze ! lol 

Was saying the other day about snooker clubs and how popular they were, I’d say they are all dead now.

What cretin does not put his phone on silent wile watching an event like that. Same as been said on the lateness thread standards and respect are becoming a thing of the past.

O’Sullivan and one or two others are trying to get the World Championship moved from the Crucible as it’s just too small for the event.

Problem is, they want it to go to Saudi Arabia or China, where the big money is.

I only watch it on TV these days, but the traditionalist in me says keep it in the UK, maybe at a purpose built venue, if sponsors can be found.
