Everyone takes on a job ,scaff ,sparks , roofer,plod ,all got risks ,perhaps if on your selection ,you have live  ammo fired at you and you see a fellow recruit take a head shot ,then you get opportunity to bail ?

He’s never been in full time work let alone a full on fire fight …. Probably never paid tax in his life and sucks the system dry
