Losing one doesn’t mean the base is lost . You said the US had lost all its bases, it hasn’t, it hasn’t lost one base. The Cyprus base was struck, have we lost that base ? Of course not. To be fair, I always look for your take on things knowing you spent a lot Of years out there….its cracking insight into a world and a culture that we only see from the outside. I worked with a few lads many, many years ago who had been in the oil job out there…..they really hated Arabs and said the Bedouin were a law until themselves. One of thems hobby had been taking photos of dead Arabs he hated them that much, said they were killing themselves all the time in road accidents ??……would jump out and start snapping away !! One of the first things they told us was if we saw an RTA, DO NOT STOP TO HELP, as the last person to touch a dying man is held responsible !! A mate of mine was driving down a street and a Saudi ran into the back of him, the police said HE was responsible as if he hadn’t been in the country the Saudi couldn’t have ran into him ! A few days later a Saudi police car came shooting out of a side street, ON ITS ROOF , and t/boned his car, again he was held responsible. That was it, he jacked that day and went home.
