I haven't been on the internet for a few months but I've been browsing YouTube over the holiday period.

What a change! A good proportion of videos are now AI generated clickbait.

It's the same with random videos friends send you via your phone. Some are obviously AI, but others have you confused.

Christ everything you read is censored or has a hidden agenda and now you have to be skeptical about much of what you see online.

Tbh, when I saw that bloke disarm the Bondi beach marksman/ terrorist, I thought that was AI at first. That was like a scene from a B movie. On second thoughts, maybe it was. Who knows?

Feck knows. It's definitely been a rapid change and this is just the start.

I actually think its very dangerous as we dont know what to believe and can be used for sinister means . The law should be changed so we know when were watching AI content maybe a small icon in the top conner or a message

I agree   I watched a video earlier on Tictoc,  it was Ricky Hatton son calling a few celebs that had attended the funeral. It was very poor taste indeed

I have a company that partners with an outfit in Bulgaria who make these AI videos for websites, like adverts sort of thing for products. What can be done is very concerning.

I agree with both , you , and wilf , juke.

You'll always have someone that's a bit of a dumbass , that'll believe anything you tell them , and kids can be the same , you can convince them of pretty much anything , but most , normal , sensible , rational , people , can spot AI , and kids that grow up with it , should be even more capable of spotting it.

For myself.  When I see a video of a talking dog , it doesn't take long to figure out that it's AI , because dogs can't talk . Everything else is pretty similar to be honest juke.

On the other hand , AI might soon be good enough to fool even the most suspicious amongst us.

Good clickbaits are: the family 'nanny' dogs guarding the newborn; the bully who gets justice in the form of a hiding from the former victim who finally stands up to his persecutor and the family dog welcoming home the heroic returning soldier.

The first surprising thing is the number of 'hits' these videos get. But the scary part is the number of comments they generate. People are really taken in,  emotionally involved even,  by these videos.

You bet that when election time comes  there will be dozens of videos created to confuse people. Starmer welcoming boat people with a bottle of champagne and a social security cheque. Farage draped in a Nazi flag with a newly grown Hitler moustache hissing at Jews. Badenoch reggae dancing whilst smoking a joint.

They could distort how individuals vote and the parties with the most financial backing will be able to flood the Internet with AI bullshit and so potentially swing the election in their favour.

Some will say " so what?" Twas ever thus." But these videos are another way of keeping us all confused and misinformed. Not many people read but everybody watches videos. I think it's a media revolution which has appeared almost overnight  with no regulation.

The first AI vids we were aware of weren't that long ago and were known as Deep Fakes,jump forward a few years the average 14 year old kid can nowadays knock up a realistic AI video that will fool the vast majority,10 years hence who knows given the speed tech is advancing,I remember reading an article a few years back that actors wouldn’t be needed one day,that day is just around the corner.

Lots of porn actors will be redundant. Kids make their own videos these days with their teachers as star performers.
