pesky1972 5,797
I know it’s all woke garbage now, and it’ll no doubt be won by someone I’ve never heard of but here are the (3 female and 3 male obviously) nominees.., Hannah Hampton, Chloe Kelly, Ellie Kildunne, Luke Littler, Rory McIlroy and Lando Norris. Luke Littler’s achievements for one so young have been nothing short of incredible. World champion and No.1 ranked at only 18 years old! McIlroy finally winning the Masters to complete the slam, and the Ryder Cup away win means he’s had one of the best two years of his entire career. Norris came through in the end to overhaul his team mate and hold off a late challenge by ferret face, and put McLaren back on top of the heap. In other news, three girls did something which I’m sure someone watched. I follow darts, golf and F1 to a degree and in terms of sporting achievement I’d probably have to give it to McIlroy. chartpolski 29,040
I’ve no interest in f1, golf or women’s sports, but I love the darts. So it would be Littler for me. I’ve followed darts for many years and while I think Taylor was/is the best ever, I think Littler could overtake him if he keeps his head and has good advice Cheers.
jok 3,487
Totally agree Charts. This young man has turned the game around, from being the flat cap, Embassy Regal beery type environment to a clean, watchable, polite (in the main) and very TV Friendly watch. I also enjoy many of the other players but SOTY would have to go to LL. Jok.

Wouldn’t grumble if Littler got it. That GOAT debate will likely not be decided in my lifetime, and probably never will as it’s so subjective.., and any sportsman can only beat what’s in front of him. I don’t ever see a domination of darts in the same way Taylor did as I think the standard across the piece is greater and deeper than say it was in the 90’s.
cragman 2,892
Never heard of the three lasses but the good old BBC are trying their best to push them into our minds. Any of the fellas would be a worthy winner
TOMO 30,050
Well darts shouldn't even be in in it cos it's not a sport.... So Lando Norris for me

So Lando Norris for me F1 must be the only sport with “reverse handicap”…. If you are the fastest , you are given a head start on the others ! Wouldn’t it be fairer and better to watch if the winner of a race went to the back of the grid in the next race; second place went to the second last in the grid and so on down to the last points place. Then the cars not in the points have a qualifying race to sort out the pole positions ? Im not into F1 but the races usually look like a procession, and like someone once said; “ put a chimp in a McClaren and it will win” ? I don’t quite believe that , bit it does seem a bit boring with the same people winning all the time . Cheers.

Is darts a sport? Is snooker a sport ? Is synchronised swimming or beach volleyball ball a sport ? Is weightlifting a sport ? Is F1 a sport ? I guess it’s all subjective But I do admit I’m biased Cheers
