Also people who just can't give a f**k,I have seen people land salmon and just throw them on the bank recently.

I had an argument with a salmon angler 2 weeks ago who saw me and a mate catch a few pike and said he throw them up the bank if he caught any . It’s not the first time I’ve had run ins with salmon anglers either . That outdated attitude still seems far too common among the game anglers on the ribble

Not uncommon to see a fish just killed for its roe and just dumped,seen quite a few this year.

Yup,do it myself but I always fillet the fish,I wouldn't just zip it open then discard the fish afterwards.

I remember when they were electro fishing the canal near to Ashb de la Zouch. They were chucking Zander (which just happens to be one of my favourite fish) out onto the banks. There were some very big specimens. Anyway, following the thread I was appalled at such waste. Jok.

The eggs are worth more than the fish to be honest mate,they would rather carry a bucket of eggs back to their truck to sell than a load of fish.

I saw an advert a few years back for some bait place wanting a hundred pounds of salmon eggs for the salmon run,loads of people sell skeins of roe.

I eat them,beaten into a scrambled egg,really nice,eaten them raw loads of times,but most people buy them for fishing bait,fish go mad for them,great bait.

How are they used as bait Mack , something i know nothing about
