I hope this doesn’t start anymore arguments but I wonder what age they crop the ears, around 3 days old the same as dew claws ? They must bleed like mad like when an older dog cuts its ear it’s hard to stop bleeding, can’t be any good that a little pup loosing loads of blood

I saw, many years ago, a pit bull have its ears cropped in a pit village pub on a bar table with a Stanley knife ! 
Claret everywhere and a very angry dog. If I remember rightly, they used flour to stop the bleeding. Same as when dubbing fighting cocks.
