Dry Very and No Grass

Yeah noticed that this weekend, the grass situation is brutal isn’t it…..meanwhile in Ireland, I’ve got cows looking over the fence in envy because my lawnmower is waiting on belts to fix it ! lol

Yeah we just haven't had hardly any rain it bone dry. They were taking food out to all the stock this morning.

Loads of maze been grown down here in east Midlands this year ..so that's still in the ground...as is sugar beat....but the wheat and barley is in...and on my travels around the UK in late spring i hardly seen  any rape at all just the odd field here and there...not like years ago...where half the country was was yellow

We've had really good growth in our trees compared to a lot of the other nurseries so we've been lucky this year.

 It seems half of the ground round here is maize this year where normally they would grow salads and veg and I don't know why the change?

A lot of maize grown here this year I would say more than other years. Rape is well down and what I did see didn't look that good. I think I read somewhere that rape production is down by 40% in the uk this year. the maize is looking good but they recon the roots go deep. 

Grass however looks f****d. They did make hay but it was short and now they have started to feeding it.

The maize will start coming off in the next week or two around here. They banned some sprays for the rape that would tackle flea beetles making it to much risk if the crop fails
