Arry 24,762 Posted yesterday at 12:11 Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:11 Out for a mooch to see what the Rabbit situation is. Ground is like concrete and no grass, in fact I met the farmer on his way to feed the stock. There using the winter feed its so bad. Cheers Arry

Cheers Arry Yeah noticed that this weekend, the grass situation is brutal isn’t it…..meanwhile in Ireland, I’ve got cows looking over the fence in envy because my lawnmower is waiting on belts to fix it ! lol

Gypsydog94 4,701
Luckily we have got lucky around me most of this summer. But just starting to run low on grass now for the cattle. Hopefully weather breaks soon and won’t start feeding
WataWalloper 3,540
Up in the dales they had a real bad start to the silage this year, an with only 2 cuts left of lucky there will be a fair few farmers with the choice of selling some cows or buying some feed this winter, shame

gnipper 6,781
We've had really good growth in our trees compared to a lot of the other nurseries so we've been lucky this year. It seems half of the ground round here is maize this year where normally they would grow salads and veg and I don't know why the change?

Rape is well down and what I did see didn't look that good. I think I read somewhere that rape production is down by 40% in the uk this year. the maize is looking good but they recon the roots go deep. Grass however looks f****d. They did make hay but it was short and now they have started to feeding it. Cheers Arry

They banned some sprays for the rape that would tackle flea beetles making it to much risk if the crop fails
