Yep I agree , the UK is screwed, whether a trucker with nowhere to stop , or British guys having to compete with Eastern European prices , if I were working away now I'd say accomodation is ridiculous, some hotels have illegals in also busy expensive time ATM but some of the best paid jobs in my game become mediocre once the digs come out of it. If you can find anywhere in the first place in august lol. Some of the foreign guys will happily sleep in the back of a van , it's not for me though , it just continues the race to the bottom no wonder big business loves them , site conditions have all but gone

It's the same on the railway especially down south. We had a massive bridge job project and most of the graft was done by Romanian lads who's work ethic pissed all over the Brits who were working there.

That's why we need apprentices though not only to learn a trade but to learn to graft aswell. I don't know who's going to be building and engineering in a few years time. When I go to site I could be the youngest there and I'm 60.

The training over here is poor and there is a money shortage and most training is only a couple of years and they use them the companies get a grant to train up the young with all the promises and at the end you Finnish agencies do the same promise you a good offer and still don't get awarded the ones from aboard are only here on a short stay then and the job is Finnished they pay them less and if they really had to stay here and pay their way like the rest of us then they may realise what rent and tax and paying bills like in the UK
