Single story mate, pitched roof.

Got her a wood burner for heating, will put a mains connecter for power on there same as for a caravan.

The water I’ve not made my mind up, can do a couple of things really….run a supply, harvest to an IBC and then put one of those snazzy ceramic filters in with a pump.

The second is probably the easiest…..or they do those big burco boiler looking filters now which you just fill, be more than enough for drinking etc. 

A few bits I haven’t got to in my head yet, just make it up as I go along really mate.

Think I may have said before mate, use a coloured fibre cement sheet on the roof.. fairly cheap, last forever, you can get in slate blue or a dark grey etc, plus they reduce the noise of rain beating on them. I think they look really smart for those type of small rural builds, they don't sweat so a bit more forgiving if you don't get the air flow right... need any help on bits give me a shout mate...

Glad you checked in mate, wanted to pick your brains.

Is there a vent strip they make for behind corrugated metal sheets ?

So, to try and be a bit clearer, where they terminate at the bottom is there a strip I can run along the wall before I fix them so that air can flow up behind ?

I’m not keeping pigs at the moment but if I was, they’d be getting fed better than that !

I had a small holding. I thought when my kids were growing up they would enjoy pups, lambs and chickens. But me and the Mrs got a bigger bang out of country living than  they did. They just took livestock  and the countryside as normal and weren't particularly interested. I even offered to get them a pony...straight out of Enid Blyton. "Nah, horses are for girls dad." Spoilt brats.lol

There's a couple ways of doing it mate, using a vented foam filler under the sheet along the eaves line..or making a soffit detail and venting the soffit...

I'd seriously consider using cement fibre sheets in lieu of metal though mate... Eternit are the company to look at. I'd use the profile 3 sheet...infact ove put a bit on a barn here and when/if I properly renovated that one, it the way I'd go with the roof

He could use eaves combs too and a dry ridge roll at the peak before the ridge goes on

I should've said vented foam fillers at eaves abd ridge.. the good thing with them is they are made to suit the sheets profile..

There's a few way to do it, but air flow is important..

Mate, if only you understood the aggro in getting anything out of the ordinary here…..epic nightmare don’t even begin to describe it !

I fully take on board you expertise and advice but if I walked into the sheeting place here and said that they would look at me like I’d asked them to do alchemy and I’d be a year and 9000 phone calls before they said “can’t get it !” 
If I lived back home, I’d ask, there would be a helpful bloke trying to get it sorted for me, I could get a couple of prices…..here I’d get a grunt from a simpleton like I’d asked to f**k his wife !

I was going to ask about those combs, they are the flexible plastic jobs if I remember rightly from a previous life ?
