Then I was 40% Irish narrowed to one small geographical area in County Cork, when I did name checking it made sense historically when tied in with my family history. My grandmothers side, hadn’t really given her maiden name much thought but that’s where it’s traced to and it’s comes from a slang term that was used way, way back in the day for travelling people in that exact area when you cross reference. 1 question, 1 statement 1. Did you see Anglo Saxon (Germanic) markers. 2. Oh my fuucking sweet baby Jesus God..... We might be related!

Didnt really pay the government much heed, story of my life ! lol

Which is stating the bleeding obvious. If your family had lived in an area then it's clear that your genetic markers will mostly resemble those in that area. Remember, these results are only going off those that have had the same test as well.

Well that's the case, they are very handy for finding a lost relative, but as for ancient ancestry, they are merely stating the obvious.
