I don't know stats but I'd guess he is up there with the most prolific song writers of all time...

G&R covering Clapton knocking on heaven's door is on of my favourite tracks.

I love the righteous brothers but can't listen to them anymore as I had to carry our kid down the aisle to unchained melody. Shame because I fuucking love that song but as soon as I hear it I flip out. The Mrs had an advert come on playing it the other day and her phone nearly went out of the window.

Weird how music can evoque such emotion and different for each person.

it took thirty years to get a good cover of purple rain and that was on X factor by a Spanish chick called Ruth lorenzo everyone else’s is an abomination, the song cannot be redone by anyone else 

 

Not the same as an expansive back catalogue mate..

And.. imo the best cover of Nothing Compares to you is by Chris Cornell...its stunning

Yeah music takes you to places, good and bad ..I love music for that.

Quite right ... cleaner leftva window open abd he fell from some height, terrible thing stuff of nightmares... I remember Clapton performing that on an MTV unplugged, goose bump moment, f**k it's sad
