I have no problem with people using there dogs for ratting work. But people  breeding dogs that have never seen an earth and selling them as workers I don’t agree with. There are plenty of jackers about that will make good ratting bushing dogs but shouldn’t be bred from imho

Killing rats in number is far harder on a terrier than working a fox or indeed old brock

I understand what you saying but not everyone who owns a terrier are in the position to go digging fox or want to dig fox 

I remember the ratting post on here few years ago ,they was good number of lads on this site posting "well done "great day ,looks a hard day's graft,  etc etc 

When terriers killing 209/300 rats a day that's some going is it not ? 

I know if I had a terrier id work it on rats go bushing ,ferreting as I don't want to go digging fox and Id want a pup not some dog that's classed as a jacker by fcuk knows who but I'd also do my best to get a pup from dogs going to ground but I would not dismiss a pup from good ratting stock 

Why not breed from good ratting dogs.

The days of digging fox is numbered and as been for a long time and I do not see the law changing anytime soon.

Right or wrong that's way it is

You need to read what I wrote again,I never said folk wasn't digging did I ?

What I said was not everyone wants a earth dog just like not everyone wants a hare dog. 

And yes the days of digging fox are numbered,how many hunts was they in UK 50 year ago? How many is they today? 

Of course you will have lads freelanceing and wrong or right they risk loosing dogs ,motor ,fine ,ban from keeping dogs and not everyone buying a pup wants to take that risk and same goes for lurchers .

An example of the rough haired mongrels? Personally, I don't see the need to add beagle, Stafford or KC Fox terrier, never seen them graft though so just from an aesthetic point of view. Each to their own.
