Do all what as good as them?If you mean sprint 100yds and fly through the air, leap through burning hoops etc. That doesn't equate to anything in real life.In fact when I was training I wouldn't even do long sends not that my old girl would have been fussed about chasing someone down anyway. My thing was if someone is running away my dog doesn't need to chase and bite them. And if it does I'm definitely in a world of shit. The point off a pp or guard dog is it should be right next to its owner protecting them or guarding its property not charging off down a field coz someone's waving their arm in the air and cracking a whip

I imagine they need to do more than that when doing military service, have you seen them in Israel?

There's been videos on the web of their dogs working for years, I don't think many breeds would be capable of doing what they can do.

Fair enough but like I origionally said they're useless for 90%of people. What they're doing in war zones isn't anything like they're ever gunna be doing for anyone in day to day life over here.In the military in a conflict situation they are going to be working with they're handler all day long.I know a fella who ran the met police K9 dept and breeding program for 30years and still gives seminars to different police forces all over the world and even he said malis were no good to the met police as they just didn't get enough stimulation

How many people are gunna use them to their full potential though?Unless they're being used in the military or by somebody who's training all week and competing at a high level so the dogs are getting the constant stimulation that they need then they just become a nightmare and a liability.Like I said the guy I know well who ran the met police dog dept and breeding program said they tried them and found them unsuitable as they spend a big part of any shift in the back of a vehicle where they would spend their time spinning in circles barking at every noise.Seen lads get them for security work and regret it as a lap round a building site once an hour on lead weren't enough and they definitely ain't no good as a guard dog round the home.

I’ve worked a couple of malis for my old man. Mainly search and cadaver but never PP. The dogs I was with were fairly soft and driven for the type of work. They constantly needed stimulating between searches with retrieves etc. All the other breeds including the herders seemed to just chill with their handlers. Great dogs to see in action but I’d never have time for one.

Some of them dogs have nicknames when deployed on operations Tomo. Once off the lead they are lethal. Brave, pure mentalists or or maybe a bit of both!
