My deerhound cross ranges about 50 yards in front of me daytime, but on the lamp is straight back when the lamp goes off

My previous two, a beddy type and a deerhound cross were the same.

I can’t remember any specific training for them to do this, other than recall.

Maybe I got lucky , but all the running dogs I’ve had were more or less the same, except for those damned Salukis, those fuckers were a law until themselves ! LOL !

Cheers.

The training was the fact you done it regular, bet they also knew the right way to act around a warren if out, you only ever show the dog the boot of the motor an then a run or 2 an back home then that’s all it becomes accustomed to, show it more an a bit variety an it soon picks up what’s what, but I know you know that haha

I want my dogs to hunt up daytime!

Nothing better than sitting on a bit of high ground and watching the dog quarter a field; the nose is down, the tail goes up, the pace quickens, a hare explodes out of its seat and its game in !

Cheets.

Aye that fits your description lol

I wouldnt be leaving no dog mate I ran for 6 hours. Hid at this river side up on fens. I wanted to stay there till it got dark. But that silly c**t wanted to head off back to motor. We got back onto the land filth came up. This big rusty head with dog. That silly c**t boasting straight away give you slip for 6 hours. Im there thinking shut the f**k up. Ive images of all right of ways. Slip gone dog back on a clasp lead. Just said ive been walking. Its not against law to walk on public right of ways. That's the reason I think a was lucky. Had no images or f**k all to incriminate me. c**ts would have found it hard to hold a charge on me.

Get yourself a pointer or a cocker. That's old man work just sat about charts come on mate. Your talking box standard lurchers on land that's all over. Sitting on high ground. Theres lurcher men that have the odd hare , then there's lads that go out on open land. Far as the eyes can see.

I can't understand how folk can take the credit for another man/woman's work . Raising a pup , bonding and nurturing it to hopefully give you 7 great winters . Surely that better than just buying ready made ?

your never going to do that though mate not for decades anyway your not so much buying a ready made dog your getting a young dog you see making it that eye is worth its weight in gold bonding easy once you take the dog doing what it loves

I need to get him weighed, they say they should be eating around 10% of his body weight in raw. I gave him 1lb of raw mince yesterday and an egg but he looked like he could eat another, tried him with some extra tuna but he didn't like it.

Feed the pup tripe, two to three small meals a day mate, wee egg does then well to,that's what I always done an pups fat an healthy.
