obi2 241
Looking to get a companion lurcher to take out stalking with me and just mouching about and a bit of fun. Steering towards a beddy whippet as easier to get than a beddy grey for some reason. For those who own or have owned them what are they like for what I’m wanting to do with it ? Keen to hear tales of there dogs and pictures would be great aswel cheers Quote Link to post
Moonlighter123 363
I’ve got a first cross.. very obedient and nice little companion dogs. Mine has a good nose, but she’s gun shy. 1 Quote Link to post
obi2 241
Cracking looking dog mate, the reports are so mixed and opposite ends, with them being headstrong and a nightmare to really obedient and clever Quote Link to post
Moonlighter123 363
I’ve got 2 beddy crosses.. this one and a bigger beddy/grey Lurcher. Both obedient and cleaver dogs.. obviously they love to chase as there Lurchers but I’m pretty sure you could train one to talk stalking to some degree. I use mine for ferreting, lamping, bushing, bushbeating (not the gun shy one though) and daytime work.. jack of all trades master of none. (Although they take some beating as a rabbit bushing dog in the dales.) Quote Link to post

She’s a real all rounder.. the little one is only 17/18 inch so probably not really a Lurcher, more of a really fast terrier. I like hunting all sorts so the bigger one is much more useful 2 Quote Link to post
Moonlighter123 363
The little one can retrieve a hare on the lamp, but as you can see, there about the same size 8 Quote Link to post
