I know there is a fishing section but thought this might have a general appeal.

On jollies in France at a friend's pond after carp. Got here and they are all bloody spawning - for those that aren't into fishing when they are shagging for the week they aren't interested in eating at all.

Then this thing took my bait. Ugly slimy thing but an absolute beast.

45minutes battle on 15lb line. Scales bottomed out at 67lb. Estimated at 100lb. Unreal and saved my holiday!!!

I've had a couple before but only up to 48lb this thing was different gravy. Never had a fight like it. I probably would target them if I had more fishing time, few places near me that have them in, but I'm into my carping again at the minute.

I know someone who runs Ebro trips and I should have been going out last year but plans changed.....I will be making sure I get out there now. I can't imagine one of these 2 or 3 times as big AND in a powerful river!

My eldest asked me to go do Ebro with him an his pal, might look into it bit more

Good friend for mine used to fish the ebro 20 odd years ago  ,took 2 lads just to catch bait fish was using 30lb carp as live bait and hooked a 2 hundred and 2lb cat fish  was in the angling  times as a world record  ,,been beaten know though

Cant even begin to think what a 200lbr would be like in a river as powerful as that.

I tried to get into fishing when I was younger but wasn't any good at it n with not having anyone in the family into it I struggled to get back into it but it was always there IV always liked shows like that river monsters n that thing there you caught looks like summet off there well done..

Back home now. They were still spawning as we left but finally ended up with a carp on the last night, 37lb.

Still beers, BBQ and around the fire pit every night......had a great week with one of my best mates.
